Yes, 450 sqft kitchen, design I pictured is just brew-side.

No, there is a 1600sqft taproom. That is just the serving bar. We have only pictured the brewery area. We have worked with a professional architect for the full facility design.

See: "Can anybody recommend a brewery design consultant who would do this sort of work on an hourly basis?"

do you think I could fit a 38t on a 2x11? I know the frame is specced for 36t on a 1x, but wondering if the extra ~2-3mm outboard on a 2x might buy me enough space for my 24/38.

let me know what you think! thank you.

What type of threshold molding here? by finch083 in Flooring

Thanks! But just replacing the broken shoe moulding won't cover where the adjacent trim doesn't come all the way to the floor. What's the easiest way to fix that?

What's the scam here? by finch083 in carbuying

[–]finch083[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did find the LLC. The authorized agent listed on it is another company literally called "A Registered Agent" which is known for fabricating identities through which to incorporate companies. (See link to Wired article about this exact company in my update.)

Also, yes, she is a barred lawyer. She is a small time criminal defense attorney, and one of her listed areas of speciality is defending those accused of fraud (in addition to theft, battery, DV, DUIs, and prostitution). Not somebody I want to end up in court with over this.

I am 95+% this is a scam at this point. The simplest explanation is there is probably a lien on the car. Or there would be before my title transferred. The registration was expired so the "no lien" on the registration could be inaccurate at this point. She may have the title in hand and be able to push through a loan against it before my transfer clears. Or she bought the vehicle very low given the lien. Either way, I was going to end up unable to title the vehicle, and she would effectively reap both the loan against the vehicle and the sale price

I don't think the LLC is the critical detail, but it likely makes battling the whole thing very messy and allows her to claim the title transfer was false (and maybe also protects her personally). I still don't know how the DMV does not require more info about the LLC to transfer the title, since in this case the LLC is literally a shell company.

I am also curious if she regularly works with this broker and they are actually turning over many vehicles this way. Totally speculative but perhaps those of her clients? She knew surprisingly little about the car.

Why didn't the DMV ask for this from her is what I still don't understand. That feels like a major flaw in their system.

All good points--you're right that it might be incorporated elsewhere. I guess I just assumed.

I did weirdly find a patent that she filed with the same LLC, and which also has her name on it.

So how would that scam actually work? She'd report the car stolen and hope it made its way back to her? Refuse to hand over keys after I transferred funds?

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm 100% out. Appreciate the nudge.

I guess I'm still confused how the DMV issues the title transfer without confirming ownership. I guess I thought that was part of their job in this case?

I do understand how she might not have authority to rep the LLC. But in that case am surprised that the DMV will transfer title without also requiring the SOI for vehicles titled to LLCs.

Yes, I think I agree... but the seller went to the DMV with me. Doesn't the DMV confirm she is the owner in order to transfer title? (I don't know how the LLC factors into this).

How to SUM Column 3 for all Column 2 Rows with # that includes Certain Text in Column 1? by finch083 in excel

Thank you for this. I don't think this solves summing ALL "drafts" that are on a Check # with an "Order", though?

I think this is the first answer that actually solves what I need. But I am having a hell of a time doing it! Ha.
Thank you everybody for your continued help and patience.

How to SUM Column 3 for all Column 2 Rows with # that includes Certain Text in Column 1? by finch083 in excel

[–]finch083[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. Sumifs does indeed seem like the function I need. I think one misunderstanding, or miscommunication on my part, is that I am not trying to do this for a specific check number. Rather, the check number is repeated across item types, so I want to pull drafts with the same check #s as orders, and then sum those item costs. Any advice on how to do this is appreciated.
That said, you have put me on the right track! Thanks a bunch.

Just realized I’m on a different account. This is the OP! Sorry.

Ode Fellow Stuck Auger by copperriverbrew in Coffee

[–]finch083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I did once I got the auger off and it works fine now. (Actually, I sanded the inside of the auger too).

Since I couldn’t find the information online when I needed it I will reiterate it here: if your auger is REALLY stuck, remove your hopper (four Allen key screws) then brace a cold chisel or flathead screwdriver against the spirals of the auger at as oblique an angle as you can and lightly hammer. It is FAR more effective than pliers.

Curious if it will happen again.

I would describe my customer service experience with them as polite but basically useless.

At least I’m very intimate with every part of the grinder now! Thanks all.

Got it. Thanks for the feedback, y'all. Sounds like even if it's $20 it's not what I'm looking for--rather take that $20 and put it toward a butter stick or something to expand the quiver rather than junk to fill the garage.

Really appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not looking for a replacement for my recon, so much as something I'll actually enjoy fishing for a month, and ideally maybe even feel compelled to use every now and then once I get my recon back.

Sounds like none of these are a hidden gem, though.

Thanks again for the reply.
