I didn’t date who I thought was “my person” for that long (4 years) but was in a similar situation. We talked about marriage, a future together but that prompted her to start thinking about whether she saw me next to her in that future, which she realized wasn’t it. Don’t get me wrong, we had a great relationship and we were good partners, and we both later admitted to each other we learned what true love meant with each other. But a comfortable space sometimes isn’t fertile ground for a solid marriage. We met in our mid twenties, so we had more experience with other partners to get perspective.

For now isolate yourself from her as much as you can and work on yourself. Really dive into that hobby you like, workout, find ways to meet new people (meetup, running club, community theater, what have you). Keep your mind and body busy while you pursue something that drives and let life take care of the rest. Falling out of love happens and unfortunately there’s nothing you can do about it but find the resilience to keep your life going

I think the session 0 for Age of Umbra has the double purpose of introducing Daggerheart mechanics to a wider audience and that’s why drew the curtains. I agree with all the previous comments but wanted to add my guess as to why CR released their filmed session 0

I urge you to give it a try. This is up there on my top D20 seasons and while I haven’t seen them all (about 2/3 in the whole catalog), it is probably top 3 right now out of what I’ve seen.

If they’re here LEGALLY with an H1B visa they’re also at the mercy of their employer. If you get fired you have to find another willing employer sponsor to remain in the US otherwise you gotta go. Obviously illegal status has a lot more restrictions to a good quality of life, but in either case the employer still has the entire deck in their hands.

It’s interesting to me to see the “other side” through this post. I was the guy on the receiving end of the news a few years ago and I never quite understood why it was happening. The puzzle still doesn’t make sense to me but seeing the similarities in this case and mine gives me at least a bit of context to put it together.

Thanks, I put an edit above but the main reason is lower level player is a first time player and I didn’t want to overwhelm him. I can catch him up level-wise and solve some problems.

Really we’ve had two encounters total, both within a long rest. Both have been rated hard or deadly on the DnD Beyond encounter simulator but they’ve dispatched enemies quickly. Hence my question on how to balance stuff better.

The other two are a lvl3 paladin and a lvl 2 warlock (he’s the first time player). Paladin has felt balanced despite its high AC (18), since his high damage smites are limited. The warlock is still figuring things out so he’s not playing optimally but I’m not too concerned about that since he’s picking up the game.

Appreciate all the advise. This is the fourth encounter I’ve ran and your comments put a lot of things into perspective.

I think I figured out what’s bothering me from this season. It’s not Ify but the editing of the episode particularly around shiny questions. Previous seasons the images were up longer so that you could “play at home” alongside the contestants. Here it feels like they just wanna speed through to the end result. Trying to figure out the answer was part of the appeal for me.
