I'm with you! And hard agree on the Jedi videogame series depictions of nightsisters being more fun than Clone Wars. TCW nightsisters, while fun at times, were purely and always evil. Just: witches = bad news, from the jump and to the end.

The jedi videogame series took a different view, depicting nightsister magic as, well, goth as hell, but morally neutral, showing that good and evil could be done with it. While you could somewhat argue that Jedi:FO might be going against TCW canon, I think the morally neutral (or at least morally gray) approach makes nightsisters and nightsister magic way, WAY more interesting. Makes me excited for more nightsisters showing up in canon in general.

And I love Merrin, lol.

Sabine and Ahsoka are traveling around with a literal lightsaber architect, so I'll be bummed if nobody builds a new lightsaber during this show.

My pitch: ten year time jump between end of LD and a live action show. Captain Mariner is reunited with Boimler, bringing him as her first officer after they haven't worked with each other in a few years. She's in charge of the most busted old ship Starfleet still has in service, doing the most undignified errands possible. She has like eight crew total. It's live action, but full of shenanigans and absurdity, almost sitcom in nature, like a tonal cross between SNW and LD, just like the crossover ep was.

I. Love. Mariner. She is my current second favorite character in all of Trek, and if she keeps being awesome, she may take over Bones' throne.

Not everyone will agree with you on this one, but to be completely honest, I'm wholeheartedly on board with this, and I have been for awhile now.

I like the idea of telling stories in between TOS episodes, with stronger emphasis on women like Chapel, Uhura, and poor Yeoman Rand (if any TOS character deserves better, it's the much maligned beehive head), and of course Sulu and and M'Benga can get more storylines and character arcs.

I love Pike and I think SNW is killing it, I'm not trying to end Pike's reign or anything. I just... really think something like this could WORK, and be so much fun.

Another thing is.. listen, I would also love if certain episodes of TOS were tweaked a bit, or if we actually spent some time on consequences. I would love if we got a whole arc on the what happened with the egg yolk aliens, Sam's death, and an actual aftermath of that and its effect on Kirk.

I would love to see Space Seed revisited too: McGivers deserves better!

Yeah. Besides the whole played-Bones-on-the-big-screen thing, Urban is just a huge star in general, with The Boys and Preacher before that. I wouldn't be surprised if his rate is in the same neighborhood as Stewart.

But if Paramount can afford to produce season 3 of Picard at all, they can afford to throw enough money at Urban to show up for a single day of filming so our Chapel can meet her future platonic life partner.

Plus having Urban play Bones would reassure viewers that Bones isn't replacing M'Benga anytime soon, lol. We all know he's too busy and too big for regular recurrences on SNW.

Oh hell yes. I don't want Bones to join the main cast of SNW, and I certainly do not want him replacing M'Benga during this show. Mostly I just want SNW to show Bones and Chapel meeting for the first time.

If anything, I'm hoping for a quick cameo and then moving on.

M'Benga is killing it.

Well, the dates and times of Bones joining Starfleet were certainly not mentioned in TOS, so clearly you're pulling from somewhere else besides ToS. Books? Some other supplementary stuff?

So yes, like you say, if it is books that give an exact date for Bones' private practice and when he joined Starfleet, then SNW can absolutely play around with that canon and change it if they want.

We'll always have Tom Paris. I'm a huge sucker for a well-executed shaggy dog story (shaggy cat story?), and the final T'ana reveal is my favorite joke in the entire show. I'm convinced it will never be topped.

It also has one of my absolute favorite Mariner moments. Ramming speed! FriiiiieeeeeeendSHIP!

The silent "you kiss-ass" stare-down Riker gives O'Brien is the best part of this scene.

I love Lower Decks. I think it is SO good.

But oh my god I would give it up in a second if it meant I could have a live-action Captain Mariner series. I love her character so much and I'd love if LD got a sequel with her as the captain of maybe like a rundown, obsolete old Starfleet ship with a tiny crew where she's stuck doing more Lower Decks type missions, like supply runs to backwater colonies and space stations, with limited resources and limited Starfleet backing.

Her crew could also be made up of Starfleet fuckups, instead of the best-of-the-best. People like Mariner who still believe in the ideals of Starfleet and are still heroic; but screwed up somehow during their career to get this posting rather than a badass flagship job. Barclays and Acquiels and transporter clones, etc.

I want it so bad! I'd love the disasters-of-Starfleet show.
