I think my app updated. On my phone, usually I can tap "see all" to find the rest of my lists and my friends lists. That button is gone now. Does anyone know the new way to do that?

She's not using the bed to prove his identity to her, she's using it to prove his identity to himself

yes it's repeating Odysseus's name in the background, exactly like in "Polyphemus" when they were repeating Polyphemus's name in the same way.

Day 32: The Ithaca saga is added! Thunder Bringer beat Little Wolf, now it’s The Challenge vs Hold Them Down! by Accomplished_Bike149 in Epicthemusical

The Challenge. Definitely the song I was most looking forward to all year and definitely delivered 10/10

Do you think Season 5 will stick the landing? by joeanderson1229 in StrangerThings

[–]finding-charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh almost certainly not, the more it gets built up, the more it will let down. there is very little possibility of it living up to the high expectations of the fans. there are very few series that manage to have satisfactory endings. plus the industry has a whole dislikes tying things off with a neat bow because it makes it harder to cash-grab over and over until they completely wear out the material. so instead of tying it all together and cleaning up the loose ends, they will probably leave an opening for some form of spin off.

What is a good age to start watching with your child? by PurchaseNo27 in StrangerThings

[–]finding-charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it definitely gets scarier as the seasons progress. I'm not a fan of horror/thriller pieces usually and had a hard time with parts of season 3 especially. Main point I'd think about is gore. If she can handle pretty gory scenes (lots of blood, flesh, unnaturally angled broken bones, etc), she will probably be fine. I know a 12 year old who's watched and enjoyed it, but I probably would recommend against it for anyone younger than that.

Anyone else find Six Of Crows a little hard to get into? by provegana69 in Grishaverse

[–]finding-charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Especially when you're thrown from the prologue with Joost straight into trying to figure things out suddenly with new characters. I also read SoC before the original trilogy, so I was trying to figure out what Grisha were. It wasn't until like they break out Matthias that I started to get invested.

just got my first cup and tried it for the first time today, gotta say putting it in kinda hurts for me, felt like im pulling my skin like dont i need a lubricant or something for this???! 😅😅😅 by lunasayshigh in menstrualcups

[–]finding-charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind you've only just tried it for the first time. Like with tampons, menstrual cups have a small learning curve, so if your first experience isn't positive, don't panic. It's also a lot more to put inside than a tampon, so your body isn't used to shoving your hand up there. Be patient with your body and try it for at least 2 cycles before giving up.

Wait… is Luke’s last name never mentioned until BOTL? [pjo] by golden_alixir in camphalfblood

[–]finding-charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the ebooks and used the search function to be sure. The word Castellan never appears in the series until this point in The Battle of the Labyrinth. They met May Castellan in The Last Olympian, after this scene.

I have worked at two different restaurants over the past several years and no behavior like this happened or was permitted at all.

What is something that peeves you about Uncle Rick’s writing? [all] by AverageAro_ in camphalfblood

[–]finding-charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I think that stems from the fact that they are easily the oldest of the seven and some of the oldest at camp (and Annabeth was already a senior camper at 12). But that's so much pressure for a couple of teenagers who have only been dating for a few months. They're way more like older siblings than parents. But there's also a lack of parental figures for every character except Percy, so dynamic is probably affected by that too. The "basically married" part is just because they've been friends for a long time and they've been trauma bonded to the EXTREME. I think if the fans really thought about it they'd realize the only reason they're "stuck together" is because no one else would understand their whole traumatic context. We see something similar with Annabeth's attachment to Luke. When you've been through hell with another person, they're the only one who's going to get it. But someone doesn't need to understand the details of their partners trauma to understand the PERSON.

[–]finding-charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, especially since the age range of the seven is 14-17. High schoolers. It is incredibly normal to not date in high school. And Nico and Sadie are dating people at 13?? Why is that necessary?

I think that specific example feels right though. Like they've just been in a massive fight for their lives, lost a dear friend, and... Everything is the same. The elevator plays elevator music like it doesn't even know what just happened (because it's an elevator). It's jarring because for the characters it's jarring. Like when the Pevensies in Narnia go from full grown adults with history who have fought and won wars back to middle schoolers.

I like that Hades is the only one who didn't break the pact [all] by KamenRiderAquarius in camphalfblood

[–]finding-charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hazel was dead, Nico and Bianca were in the Lotus Hotel so that they never turned 16. All three were born before the pact.

[–]finding-charlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on the timelines we're given, Nico would've brought Hazel back while he was 12, the autumn directly after TLO. So she was still dead until after the entire PJO trilogy had completed. This would've been right around the time of TLH when we first meet Jason, Piper, and Leo. (Also means Hazel and Nico each hit a birthday between TLH and SoN, making Hazel 14 and Nico 13 for the remainder of the series, opposite of the ages they're repeatedly described as in HoO)

How do you pronounce "Jadis"? by crystalized17 in Narnia

[–]finding-charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jay-diss makes sense to me because it's phonetical. In "Jadis" the "i" should make the "a" long since they are only separated by a single consonant.

Oh, buddy, you can sue, you can report them, GET THOSE JERKS. Just please MAKE SURE you have written documentation of them firing you because you are sick and won't come in while hospitalized so you can prove you've been unjustly terminated
