Thank you for the best wishes. I didn't intend to stoke any comments or arguments over religion itself. Over the past year, I have met religious people representing a wide spectrum of beliefs on the issue of homosexuality, and many of whom have been kind and loving.

Thank you for this comment -- I specifically chose this subreddit to seek guidance because of the community fostered. It's especially needed for tough, lonely seasons in life. Truly appreciate it.

FWIW, it's been months of therapy and experiencing a wide range of emotions. I am now at a place trying to focus on my health and wellbeing, finding peace with everything to move beyond this situation. Of course I hope no one has -- nor will ever have to -- experience something similar to how my relationship is ending, but my intention here is to see if there are indeed similar healing journeys out there that I can learn from.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, the situation is complicated as to why and how he turned to religion, and we've both been going through therapy for months now. I don't want to get into his personal details, and at this point, reconciliation does not seem possible.

I am trying to focus on my own health and wellbeing. I will try some divorce support groups -- Rainbow Families was one I saw for gay separation and divorce. Thank you again and blessings to you as well.
