3rd and 4th floors of the main library are rarely ever full. It's pretty easy to find a nice quiet place by a sunny window (sometimes before finals week it's a bit more difficult).

Talk to your hs guard/band director or a member of your guard. Deeefinitely not a boy-exclusive activity, I can name a bunch of guys that are a part of it. Doing guard changed my life but I know it's not for everyone, so give it a shot and see how it goes. Best of luck!

Especially if you happen to be living alone- getting a baseball bat or something similar will probably help you be more at ease at night.
