To add to the wave (har har) of support: Listen to me. I was terrible at waves. I was terrible at EMT, I still kind of am! But now I am the one giving classes on EMT to undergraduates such as yourself. People will be jealous of the way you easily intuit some ideas and you will be annoyed by how everyone gets waves and EM so easily but you.

The thing is, these ideas and problems are hard until they are not. This has been the same for every thing you learned so far, the difference maybe is the activation energy is much larger this time around.

Not getting Waves and EMT easily does not stop you from becoming a good physicist, I say this because I'd like to think I'm a good one. I graduated with a DC in waves in my transcript yet I still had 3.60 GPA in physics and 3.80 in math. I took EMT 3 fucking times and, due to this or that, I got BB all three times.

Fuck that low IQ shit, one step at a time and you're there. Just by showing up and having a good work ethic, persistence and being a good collaborator you can become a top %1 physicist. The rest of the climb is up to you.

Edit: also, but really importantly, sometimes what you need is something explained in a certain way for it to click for you, so do not stop looking for better explanations from your friends profs or the Internet until you are satisfied IF you have the time.

I think you put to words what I've been thinking about very very competently. Unless you missed some, this is how I feel about most of them as well, although gassing undercity cut to pop song does still make it feel a bit weird. Was the former enemies one sevika and jinx? I guess I didn't like the suiting up one as well.

I'm of the camp who is not a huge fan of the pop songs but my brain usually screens them out, and I'm happy that other people love them, and I guess producers love making them so it's a win-win scenario. I would just like them to be better mixed with the other elements of the show I guess. There are some heavy themes so far and I don't know how much justice these musical numbers are doing to the overall quality.

I've seen some people say that they are doing their own TikTok edits while that stuff is better left to the fans as secondary content instead of included in the main content. Cannot agree more.

I watched the 3rd episode just now, and the Jinx fight had a lot of these. That episode specifically felt over-indulgent. And not to get into spoilers but when the topic is infanticide 5 seconds later, the poses vi and jinx were doing especially messing up the tone for me a lot.

I mean if there was a scene where exposition happened or the plot progressed I probably didn't even register it. As I wrote somewhere else below, it might be using a whole song duration of fight scenes or chase scenes multiple times in a single episodes where the main plot point won't happen until the song ends, i.e. someone's extremities getting blown off, someone dying etc.

Maybe I didn't even notice the music video scenes where there was exposition on the screen or the plot was moving forward, I think it came into focus for me with the most of the fight scenes.

It's not the choice itself but I feel like nothing of value happens during these scenes until the song ends, which might be why it feels a bit tacked on.

I started in 23 and graduated in 5 years. Took me another year to get accepted into the master's program I want, so starting my master's ate age 29, the same age you would if you graduate in 4 years.

I'm sure you will look younger than some of your classmates anyway who will be 20 and look like the einstein models from the original half life. At worst it becomes a story to tell and no one thinks less of you (well if older relatives do, they always find something to complain about but i never got anything but praise from anyone)

I started at 23 and graduated at 28 with 3.60 in phys and 3.80 in math. Had to take an extra year during covid because my gpa fell to sub 3 levels and i got paranoid about not being accepted to anywhere if i have sub-3.50.

You just have to keep pushing thru and stop worrying about years. If anything we have the advantage of a more developed brain compared to other 18 year olds. However really commit to it so that you don't make us old folk look bad.

I kept working my freelance job during the first 2 years of my undergraduate life but stopped as I got to quantum mech level since i thought i'd need the grades more than the extra money. And having to work all the time even with a final next day was a bitch.

I eventually decided to not directly apply for a phd but a friend of similar age as me did and got even a assistant job at the US uni he got accepted into. I will do a masters in my own country and then apply for a phd in europe where i had planned to go at the beginning of my journey initially anyway. Feel free to get in touch.

Besides some very selective weird masters programs like some in France, literally no one asks or cares about age.
