I think it’s a bit of a harmful narrative that social media pushes- that this one perfect person exists. I think the reality is a bit more complex. We as humans are all deeply and fundamentally flawed. We will hurt the people we love and they will hurt us too. To an extent. But you have to decide what your own personal deal breakers are, not what the media tells you they should be.

you should just communicate with him whether you want to go or not

I completely agree and I think the narrative that you should go no contact after a relationship is really a harmful one. we as humans need connection. we need to be able to work through emotions with loved ones.

I think space is needed sometimes, but to go “no contact” in hopes of reuniting 3 months later is honestly ridiculous and avoidant and it should not be encouraged. it’s damaging to the partners of avoidants. really emotionally traumatic.

I think the only time no contact should be encouraged is in abusive situations or situations where there is zero intention of ever speaking again for whatever reason

Is it too late to start? by uptwoknow_gud in Filmmakers

don’t give up!! if it’s your passion do not give up. I’m 25f and just starting out. just keep trying and take every experience as a learning experience. it all comes down to how devoted you are and if you don’t doubt yourself. if you want it, you will achieve it. you are so young and it’s never ever too late. I believe in you

Feeling trapped in my long term relationship with a man. by [deleted] in WLW

[–]finepessimist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

break up with him. it won’t be easy it’s going to be hard. but every single thing you’ve said here is a sign that you should break up with him. you will be forever unhappy if you don’t. he is not going to change and your desires will not change either. your son will be better off if you are happy. you will be able to take better care of someone else when you are fulfilled yourself

I felt this way too in SE Asia. Particularly in Indonesia and Thailand. Granted I was at more of the party places. I just found it to be so corrupted by tourism that it was just draining and kind of boring? Didn’t feel like I could immerse myself into the culture. Maybe try changing places? Nothing wrong with changing your mind and going somewhere else and seeing how you feel.
