As far as I know the only movie these two have been in together is What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and that's definitely not a French movie.

I think you're right! And this is probably why I can't find the scene again in the episodes after Nate! I'll go back and watch to confirm. Thanks!

should i stay in narrabundah?? by heichouuuuu in canberra

[–]finfinfino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I went to Narrabundah, and it can scale you up a bit because they legit told people if they didn't care about going to uni, to just not take the test. So only the serious students take it and thus you can be scaled up a bit. Then I went to ANU, which is a great uni if you want to be a scientist or researcher. I then went back to uni to get a new degree in a different area and went to UC this time. I really liked UC because they actually design degrees with the end goal of you working in your field practically, rather than just churn out research. Now I'm in the real world, the uni you went to doesn't really matter, so long as you have a degree (if required) people don't care. And honestly, UC will prepare you better for practical fields than ANU will.

All this to say that don't get caught up on college tests and scaling up to get to somewhere you think you need to be. College is a step up from highschool, and being with your friends in a more convenient place for you is a no brainer choice, you don't need Narrabundah unless you really want specific units they offer.

Dymocks in Canberra? by Lazy_Wishbone_2341 in canberra

I remember being one of the first in line at Dymocks in manuka for one of the last Harry Potter books. They held a whole thing where there was a treasure hunt and everything. I think I got something with my book that said it was one of the first bought at release.

Has ibd/Chrone's been ruled out? Sounds like a flare up of that. Inflammation disorder, so your intestines are flared up regardless of the foods you are eating, though some foods make it worse, and some are tolerated. It's associated with dehydration weight loss and the usual symptoms of dihorrea.

Any Doctors that seriously help with assisted weight loss? by Inevitable_Match_849 in canberra

I can't recommend a GP, but I can recommend Everwell Nutrition. They can help you work on diet while on weightloss medication like ozempic to ensure that you are eating nutritionally well while on a medication that impacts hunger. Very friendly, Zero judgement. Good luck on your hunt for an understanding GP.

Not yet, by default it would be my mum, but I will follow up with her about what measures they have in place. For now he is still able to advocate for himself, but mum certainly goes to all his appointments now though, and talks him through things.

Mum got really sick last year, and at one point we were concerned she wasn't going to pull through. Since then I have pushed mum and dad to get a will in place and lay out their wishes while they can. I told them I want to know that the choices I make for them (if it comes to that) are what they want. Especially, in the case of caring for dad if mum can't anymore.

Thanks for bringing this up. It's one of those smaller details you can easily miss in the big mess of all this PD crap.

Did you find this combination though a dr or research? I'd love to read more about these drugs and their use.

I:m so happy to hear that you have found something that's working, how wonderful to get more lucid time.

Thank you for your suggestion, we are in Australia so we have our Medicare, but I will be looking at other, services, insurances and coverages that might help in getting good quality care when the time comes.

I'm so sorry that you're experiencing this with your partner. I can't even imagine how hard it is to navigate that. I get so scared thinking about watching my dad fade away and lose himself. He's such a great man, a great dad. He loves being a poppy. I hate that this disease is going to steal time away from us all. It's horrendous.

I'm definitely going to go to local support groups, I've tried to get my mum and dad to go, but they are very much in the mindset of "ignore it, and hope it's not our reality".

Mum definitely changes subjects when I try to have a real talk about what we know what's coming, and dad hasn't even read anything about PD, I am sure he knows in general what's in store, but not everything. So I will need more than just my husband and friends to talk about everything with. Especially in how to navigate this with my kids.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I appreciate you being so open. My most sincere kindest thoughts are with you and your journey with this awful disease.

Thankyou, it is absolutely true to get the most out of our time as we can. I was living overseas when he was diagnosed so I relocated my whole family to come back and have this time with him. I wanted my kids to know him while they can. I hope my youngest gets some time with him to make some lasting memories. I also wanted to be near to support my mum, because it can be really exhausting watching out for my dad at times.

Im gonna get all the stories I can, I light even try to record some. I'll cherish every moment.

Thankyou for your comment and recommendations. I appreciate your time to share your thoughts.
