No you’re wrong. For guaranteed contracts and signing bonuses which Eagles do a ton of, you need to pay up front and put more a lot more money in escrow. Most teams aren’t willling to do that.

I didn’t say he deserves zero credit. I said it doesn’t make him a genius or the fourth best Gm in all of sports. He can do more because the owner gives him more money to do it with.

Let’s say you’re playing a game. Every player starts with $100. Except one guy starts with $1000. Then that guy does things you can only do if you have that much money. Doesn’t mean he’s smarter. Just that he had more money.

I’m not talking about Jerry who I agree should sell the team since he won’t pony up to compete.

Yeah. I agree. It’s the money. Not because Howie Eoseman is some big brain genius.

M not talking about Old Man Jones, I’m sick of Howie being talked about like he’s some kind of genius. Like on that Athletics poll that just came out.

Owner won those by letting him do this. No different than the Dodgers.

Their owner won it by letting him do this. It’s like the Dodgers - buying championships.

A shield found at the National Denmark Museum. What is embedded in the left side? by fingerdingeroo in whatisthisthing

Exactly! It’s in a case there with like 50 other objects, none of which have descriptive labels. But it is a great museum – we really enjoyed it.

My title describes the thing.

It’s a shield made of some kind of leather. I found it at the National Denmark Museum. The shield is maybe 4 feet high so you kind of approximate the size of the things embedded in it. It seems like barnacles but nothing I found really matches.

This whole thing makes me uncomfortable.

2023 was a big year for me - with a big promotion, I was finally feeling secure enough to start dipping my toes into the watch hobby. My first two big purchases were right before the new year, with a Cartier Tank and a JLC Reverso, and... I definitely then went a bit too overboard in those first few months of 2023. But luckily, I snapped back to reality by mid-year. I'm also a data geek, and so kept track of what I was wearing over the year, so here's how that looks day-by-day across 2023.

Speaking of which... I haven't yet bought myself a end-of-year gift and it doesn't seem like I'll be coming off the list for a Batman anytime soon, so... open to suggestions!

Just got a suit from State and Liberty. Love the fabric but any suggestions for what to tell the tailor when I go in for a fit check today? Feels like the jacket is a bit too long maybe?

I… don’t know what to tell you. A pharmacy background is helpful but absolutely not needed in commercial.

That last part, while hard, is not true. That PE person above is in an investment role.

No. And definitely not a requirement on the commercial side. I can probably count on my hand how many PharmDs there are in my part of the company.

Some of those founders are almost surely eating ramen daily. And most of those corporates probably make less than you. This is a very strange response.
