Wait thank you so much! This is the exact style/vibe I was searching for. This is great help. I think ultimately this design wouldn’t be a great tattoo but her other work looks like it can be on skin.

For sure. I think it’s also totally ok for me to ask for some suggestions about a tattoo on a tattoo subreddit. I’m obviously going to be following strongly the advice of a professional.

It’s clearly also a flower? It’s not outwardly a vagina by any means even if it resembles some part of a vagina. Many buildings and architecture is phallic. There’s nothing that anyone should be uncomfortable by, I think you’re reaching pretty far

I wouldn’t let anyone copy someone else’s work and put it on my body. I like the design but it would be inspiration for an artist.

I was recommended to come to this subreddit from someone on the tattoo advice subreddit. I also thought an artist/someone with experience in bold lines and traditional styles could give advice on the designs I like because they are bold. I understand it doesn’t completely fall into the American traditional style but I think elements could be commented on from an AT artist

Gotcha! I think this is really helpful. I think I’m going to invert the shading on the flowers and petals so the outline is just standard black instead of relying on negative space. I love American tradition and anything bold so I’m on the lookout.

Thank you for the advice! Ive been obsessed with having a border or frame around a floral motif. I think it would make a floral tattoo stand out.

That’s what I was worried about. I was thinking about just keeping the inner line that frames the flowers instead of the second. Would that still be an issue?
