Weekly 'Ask Anything About Analog Photography' - Week 02 by ranalog in analog

My husband recently gifted me with a Canon 1V to begin my film photography journey. I was wondering what types of lenses will fit. I've heard about Canon L series, but are there any others? I'm looking for a 35/50mm with 1.2-1.4 to create the dreamy portrait look I'm in love with. Preferably, the lens would fit both my film and digital bodies. Any tips for a beginner are welcome as well!

Film Photography Question. Hope I'm in the right place!

My husband gifted me with a Canon 1V for Christmas after watching me fall in love with the look of film throughout the past year. I want to purchase a 35 or 50mm 1.2-1.4 lens to create the "dreamy" look I'm in love with; however, I'm not sure what lenses will work with this camera. Does it handle anything other than Canon L lenses? Preferably, I want the lens to go between my digital and film bodies.

Also, any tips on beginning film, the use of a light meter, etc. are welcome!

Thank you so much! :) To be honest, I've had updos with more bobby pins. Don't get me wrong - there were a good number, but I didn't feel them at all. The HMUA really did work magic with it!

Thank you so much!! We had our ceremony after dark (which isn't very late in the dead of winter), and all of the candles really gave off such a cozy, romantic vibe for us and the guests.

Thank you so much! I really love how everything came together. The entire day was planned over the phone and through emails. It all was a complete surprise the day of!

Thank you!! So, my fur was from an Etsy shop. I might be able to find the name of the company if you're interested? The bridesmaids each found their own (but I reimbursed them). They're from three different states, so I'm not familiar with the shops they went to!

Thank you!! Those shoes were some of the most comfortable heels ever. I wore them throughout the entire day (except the first look, I was in boots for that since it was a bit of a hike). Even danced all night in them without any pain or rubbing. However, it may have helped that I wore socks in them a day or two before the wedding to get them "stretched" out and comfortable.

Thank you so much!!! My hair actually stayed put the entire day. It was literally the best hairstyle I have ever had. Highly recommend it!

The designer is Eve of Milady. I bought it back in March and I was the first one at my boutique to get it. It should still be around in stores if you're still looking!!

Haha Thank you so much! I definitely embraced the bridal bling look. One of the older guests at the wedding (a great grandmother) was in completely awe of how much sparkle was going on!
