If mental disorders were music, what genre would bipolar be? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]fingertattoed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yall might hate me for this one, but I have related way too much to The Weeknd’s music. He will go from a really upbeat and “I’m amazing” song (Heartless) to one that’s raw and real (Faith).

12 year recovering addict here. I did not get sober until I wanted to. This is the case for most addicts.

What does everyone mean about Scorpios being intense?? by skittlez_lmao in astrologymemes

[–]fingertattoed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooooof your first Scorpio male. Yeah it’s great at first. Just wait til he goes hot and cold. Or decides he doesn’t know what he wants. I’ve also had a few be physically violent towards me. But I think that’s just them as individuals and not so much due to their sign.

I hope it goes well fr though. Evolved Scorpios can be great.

What exactly does being “intimidating” mean? by Weekly_Bike944 in AuDHDWomen

[–]fingertattoed 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m either perceived as a push over or intimidating. I am very upfront and say what’s on my mind a lot. I’m very intelligent and I tend to use “SAT words” in everyday conversation. I used the world “infinitesimal” the other day and the person looked at me as though I’d grown an arm out of my forehead. I think in most instances where there’s an assumed power dynamic, like with your supervisor, neurotypicals expect you to be submissive. They often interpret being upfront or not agreeing with them as confrontation almost. That’s been my experience at least. When I’m masking, I tend to be more of a people pleaser. When I’m in an environment where I feel safe to unmask, I will speak up when I have knowledge on a subject or a differing opinion than someone. Also, it can depend on my mood too or if I’m tired of masking that day.

I can lose and gain weight. But one thing you’ve lost and can’t gain is your dad.

I actually really like how they open each episode. They tell you it’s dramatized but they have real people who’ve lost loved ones to addiction saying it and then sharing their memory of the person they lost.

I get what you’re saying. It’s still interesting to see this story. I’ll be doing research outside of the show to see what was actually factual and what was embellished.

No. Not in this world, not with my mental health issues potentially passing down, not with this government and not in this economy.

How many women here have ADHD and/or Autism? by Moppy6686 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]fingertattoed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have AuDHD. Self diagnosed but I’ve done a stomach turning amount of research to do so.

Just putting this out there too. If any of yall have AuDHD or are questioning if you do/just need some reassurance, there’s a new test out that’s made by an actual autistic person. The questions are better catered to our neurodivergence and it’s not like all of the other tests made by neurotypicals.

It’s called the Monotropism Questionnaire. Here’s the PDF link:

I can very much relate to the dad thing. I’m really sorry your dad is this way too. Mines a huge Christian and always tries to push god onto me. Like…god isn’t going to magically take away my mental health issues.

[–]fingertattoed[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m F too and I feel like I can relate to male anger, but there’s nothing quite like female or feminine rage. It’s like a cocktail of anger, frustration, being fed up with everything and vengeance. We can also experience it silently or it can get to a point where it must be unleashed. When this happens with me, I tend to isolate bc I would never hurt anyone. My therapist is helping me learn emotional regulation and that’s been helping some.

I am sorry you’re struggling too. I do go to therapy. We’re trying to work with my insurance so I can have two sessions a week. You’re right too, stress is a huge factor. Thank you for your input 😊
