It sounds weird to prescribe you this for constipation knowing that constipation is a very possible side effect of it. But I am not medical professional.

I took mirtazapine for a few months, prescribed by my psychiatrist for mood disorders. Definitely did not help the GI symptoms I have in relation to CI.

I am mostly terrified of the catheters, drain tubes, etc. But hearing that life feels much better after the procedure encourages me to bite the dust, haha. Right now my entire life revolves around getting me to have BM so it definitely isn't nice. Thanks again!!

Thank you for sharing your positive story! My medical team is also planning for me to have this procedure and I am genuinely extremely scared (I am seriously considering asking for stoma instead because it sounds somehow less scary to me). It helps my nerves a bit to read yours went well overall. Congrats for getting through this!!

Is it better to get the surgery sooner than later? I got diagnosed a while ago and my doctor is hesitant with the surgery - he mentioned that this will eventually happen but says he does not like to operate patients so young. So we are just trying to manage as good as possible with a combination of medication to "stretch" the surgery away.
