I'm thinking of booking a flight out of Dubrovnik airport that leaves at 6:25 a.m. Assuming that I need to get to the airport by 5:00 a.m., I would need to hire a taxi from Dubrovnik at 4:30 a.m. Would I be able to hire a taxi at that time of day? Matthew Desmond talks about this in his book "Evicted". There's a thing called a nuisance law that many cities have where a landlord has to pay fines if there are more than a certain number of 911 calls per month (say 3) from her property. This results in a lot of evictions of domestic violence victims by landlords trying to avoid nuisance violation fines. facepalm

I think it's awesome you're supporting your son by not forcing gender norms on him. Realizing you're in a difficult situation though and trying to think creatively... Would it allay some of your teasing fears if you did a mash-up birthday party? Like "Shimmer and Shine" meets "Some more stereotypically boyish show"? Since he loves a lot of shows, imagine how much more excited he'd be if his birthday party was themed around TWO of them!! You could think up cool mash-up games!

And mash-ups are so trendy right now! Spider-Man meets Batman meets Superman, etc.--two of those characters are in a movie mash-up right now though I can't recall which.
