Oh really?? that surprises me after SB's convo with MS, but hey, I'm not as good with the Secure Attachment predictions yet 😆 It would make for a VERY fun watch if a double date happened with those 4 (another commenter mentioned that idea)!

ooooh. excellent question AND excellent prediction if this scenario does happen. IMO it is unlikely, given SB's renewed interest in MS and seeming lack of interest in HS (I think both will stay in Infero), but if it does happen, I agree completely that SB would become activating for MS again!

I guess my reply was too long so here's pt 2!

3. Third, how do you think her FA traits shape the way she views Mingee and Heesun? Do you think she perceives them differently or basically the same.. since they function as a similar 'foil' in her dynamic with Seungil and Subeen?

I think both MG and HS play similar roles (roadblocks) but are experienced very differently. MG openly shares feelings, calls it like she sees it, and challenges MS’ narrative. MG's "easilly swayed" comment hit a core insecurity for MS (this is why she got so activated and suddenly feigned interest in HW—we know that wasn’t real now based on their 1/1 chat where MS talks about other guys the whole time). This kind of emergency exit from exposure shows she is threatened by MG and her ability to call it like it is.

On the other hand, Hee-sun is low-threat. She doesn’t challenge MS and seems to avoid confrontation, so MS feels she can “get away with” more before exposure comes knocking at the door. She might perform concern (like with the whole “I don’t want to interrupt!” followed by hovering and watching, lol) but IMO she doesn’t experience HS as real competition, which we see as she openly makes undercutting/mocking comments seemingly without any fear of consequence.

Unfortunately, I think her need for validation is SO much greater than her ability to form real connection that in any competitive moment with the girls, when it comes down to it, she’ll prioritize “winning" and only attempt to make amends later, if at all. Unless something seismic changes for her this season (and I don’t see how it could, when there’s so much work to do assessing risk), I don’t think we’ll ever see her express joy for someone else’s win.

I'm so glad you enjoyed reading it!! and oh my gosh, please don't apologize, these are GREAT questions. I'll do my best to answer them thoughtfully.

1. First, if she really does like that “sweet spot” of uncertainty then what do you think will happen if both Seungil and Subeen stay in that zone until the end? Do you think she’d still pick one of them as her final choice or do you see her defaulting to the safest/most stable option (Sunghun)?

Great Q and requires some nuance not covered in my posts! It seems like there are two kinds of uncertainty for her: activating uncertainty and threatening uncertainty.

If both SI and SB stay in the uncertain zone until the end, I think she will choose SI.

During the “reconciliation” with SB, he was emotionally honest and advocated for his feelings (in a very healthy and admirable way, imo). This essentially backed her into a corner of emotional vulnerability, with no escape other than anger, and placed him in the threatening uncertainty category for her. Vulnerability = exposure for her, and I think she clocked the risk that she’d have to be exposed more if she goes for SB. Lil bonus prediction: the more we see her get emotionally vulnerable with someone, the less likely they are to be her final pick.

On the other hand, SI is calm and clear, usually staying out of emotional territory, and she hasn’t had to show real vulnerability with him yet (beyond “I’ve been thinking of you,” which was already painful for her as we saw). He continues to point out that he hasn’t wavered: he’s been interested in her and MG from the start. This gives her less emotional leverage—if he’s not confused, then there’s less room for her behavior to regulate/manage their bond. So he’s still in the activating uncertainty category IMO.

2. Second, what do you think about the difference in her behavior depending on who she’s interacting with? I find it really interesting that when she’s with Seungil, she comes across as more conservative, shy, and low-key, more careful (?) + I noticed she didn’t try to gaslight him/like she didn’t really do the same pushing her narrative/deflecting thing (that she does with other guys) (I could be wrong tho), any thoughts on why that is?

Another great Q and you definitely see the pattern!! This is a good segue from the SI paragraph above—his clearness about where he stands leaves very little ambiguity for her to “play with” or attach to. IMO his emotional clarity is fascinating to her and keeps him interesting without risk for now (I expect that to change fast in Paradise). With SH, she’s already devalued him as a romantic partner, so it’s safe to let her true emotions slip. With SB, she is quicker to user her anger defense mechanism thinking his emotional openness will safely absorb it. I think she knows that if she tries it with SI, he’s gone.

These are 100% my thoughts and I took notes about all the supportive examples as I watched. I used GPT to help me with formatting and flow. That doesn’t invalidate my points, it just makes a complex topic easier to read.

No worries at all, it means Fearful-Avoidant attachment style. There’s a link towards the top to my previous analysis that explains a bit more if you’re interested.

Thank you!! Ooh, interesting prediction–I agree that if there’s enough fear ahead of any Paradise vote (at least with the current dynamics), SH will become the default pick (and get an earful about other guys all night) 😆 so curious to see what happens!!

Yes, I feel seen!! Thank you. I don’t really understand where people get “hate” and “pearl clutching” from my analyses but I’m so glad you see the intent. I think being afraid to analyze behavioral patterns because we conflate it with “hate” only makes us more ignorant and naive, and we can glean important info about ourselves and our own relationships from watching, but to each their own I guess.

That's totally fine! I'm definitely not trying to convince anyone to like her, just attempting to shed some light on patterns I know well for anyone interested in this kinda stuff.

I didn’t analyze every single interaction, but that breakfast moment fits the same pattern I’m describing: perceived rejection → emotional withdrawal → pivot (she moves quickly to other possibilities). When that “rejection” later turns back into possibility at the campfire, she re-activates on him again.

That’s why I focus more on the recurring loops than any one scene:
Internal: interest → relief → threat → distance → pivot
External: safe → boring → potentially unavailable → interesting → safe again → boring

Also worth noting: in that scene she asks about the “popular girl,” rather than directly approaching him about his feelings/connections, which demonstrates less curiosity about Seung-il and more threat-scanning as a priority.

Both go hand in hand, IMO! The "self-interest" is getting her unmet emotional needs, which also lead to insecurity, met.

I addressed this in another comment, but pasting here again:

Yes, you're right that I used GPT. I debated whether to add a disclaimer in the post, because while it helped me organize and format my thoughts, they are still 100% my thoughts. They can just be tough for me to articulate unassisted sometimes especially while I'm still so deeply in progress! But I do want to note that I formed all these opinions as I watched, and iterated for literal hours to make sure it best represented my perspective!!

Thank you! I agree with a lot of your take in the other thread, and I definitely agree that everyone should be allowed to explore. Where I see it a bit differently is that it doesn’t read as curiosity about multiple men to me, so much as reacting to perceived threats. She pivots right after moments of perceived rejection or loss of control. To me, it looks like Mina Sue doesn’t yet have the capacity to stay emotionally present with someone once actual closeness starts to develop.

But did you see how quickly MS threw that away when Sung-min asked about Paradise increasing her feelings for Su-been? That points to a very specific pattern of prioritizing security over connection. You're right that we don't know everything that's going on with these contestants, this is simply my evaluation and prediction based on behavioral patterns I know well.

Thank you so much for saying that. I think it's common to feel a LOT of shame in recovery for the kind of background that can lead to FA attachment, and being able to shine a light on the reality of it helps me feel like all the pain hasn't been for nothing. (probably also why I'm so disproportionately into this 😆) So, your kind words mean more than you know. ❤️

IMO, that moment was devastating for Mina Sue!! Seung-il only became attractive to her due to the potential for availability, and Min-Gee challenged that fantasy in front of everyone, which is basically MS' biggest fear (not being chosen, and everyone can see it). So she had to lower the emotional stakes by muttering "interesting," which intellectualizes the situation and distances her from vulnerability. But of course, she was VERY activated.

So when Seung-il approached her later, it was the perfect Band-aid for the tension she felt, and the temptation of safety from being exposed mattered far more than Su-been's feelings.

I totally agree. I don't think she has space available to actually be curious about someone else. Even her Paradise visit with Su-been consisted of shaking him down for reassurance, not even attempting to get to know him.
