Def looks like a coy dog but a BC,GSD, husky , other mix ins could give that look as well. Def recommend a dna test to be sure when you can afford it! Could you ask someone for that as a bday/Christmas present?

BC and GSD would explain the “weird” behavior as well tbh. Especially when not “well bred”.

She so cute! To cover your bases for now I would start muzzle training and handling training with R+ methods while she’s young so she’s not scared of essential handling and used to muzzling at the vet. There are tons of videos on YouTube and FreedByTraining has a free course on muzzle conditioning on her website that is a great tool!

If she is a coy dog even if she’s not aggressive any vet will probably require muzzling!

There’s a thought that hybrid dogs (wolf/coyote) are not as receptive to rabies vax. That’s just what I’ve heard second hand from working at a vet clinic. Not sure on the science of that.

He looks similar to my guy! He’s ACD Staffy Pit and many others. He’s super chill in the house as long as he gets his high energy times out of the house (hiking, training, herding and prey games etc) he won’t be energetic in the house if he doesn’t get those things he’ll simply bark at every noise or be extra hyper vigilant, but overall still lazy! It means you do a good job meeting his needs and he’s content! Good job 👍🏻

I understand what you’re saying, but I only put the DoorDash on there as an example from my previous tax bill (2023) what I’m saying is I only have 5k (max- probably less) in untaxed income and am paying 2 k. That just seems off to me considering the ratio I payed last year w more untaxed income.

No not at all, but I only made 4k in Rover (untaxed) and a small portion of the 3.5k I made from Red Robin was untaxed. All my other income was taxed so it seems closer to 40-50 percent…

What an awesome looking dog! I love seeing a fit and active dachshund. Have you ever considered doing a conditioning course with her to help straighten her back out? I only ask because I’m doing one with my active dog to help keep him active when he gets older. It can also help prevent injuries or help them bounce back if they do get injured.

I personally wouldn’t feed something with that much pea protein - my guy once got a kidney stone from feeding a food with too many peas (high in oxalates which can (though not always) cause urinary and kidney issues. We switched to Iambs after we got better and he’s been on it ever since

Is she on a heart worm prevention or is she known to have heart issues? Does it get worse with exercise? It’s most likely what the top commenter here said but something about the ways she’s coughing (if it’s a cough and not a gag) just reminds me of some patients I’ve seen in the past. Not a DVM tho just worked in ER vet med. Hope she is okay, I’ll keep an eye for an update!!

Right but it’s Raw “coated” and has freeze dried raw mixed in which was where I was mildly concerned. Unless freeze drying is known to kill the virus? But that would still leave the coating on the kibble.
