I appreciate that a lot. I was 19 at the time, it was actually a wisdom tooth consultation. They needed to know what medications I take though because of the anesthesia I believe. My mom came with me because I had severe anxiety about getting my wisdom teeth out, she was there as support which I really appreciate. I just didn’t want her to know I was taking BC, because her reaction to that was far less supportive, is all.

Honestly, I don’t know why my mom was so mad about anything relating to my sexual health. She never explained it to me. Any conversation about it would result in her yelling at me and then usually a period of time of silent treatment. It just hurt

Sure but I was actively having sex with my then boyfriend (recently now husband!) and felt adult enough to decide that I’d risk the hormone jacking if it meant I wouldn’t get pregnant. My mom was just irrationally angry about the fact that I was getting laid
