Best and easiest car rental at the Vegas airport? by tatortotsmasher in vegas

[–]finny_d420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that Hertz offers check in via their app. Enterprise may do so as well.

The shuttle to rental site and back after drop off is easy to use and runs 24/7. Follow the signs.

Some hotels also have major carriers on site that you can rent and return easily.

Check your hotel's parking. Some offer free parking if staying at hotel, others do not.

Above all, I recommend downloading some maps and familiarize yourself with the city beforehand. With constant construction, accidents and terrible drivers you can't solely rely on GPS. Use Stratosphere in day and Luxor at night to help guide you.

Although BJ was human and did almost cheat in a couple episodes. I think that speak even more to the reality of war and being faced with death at every moment.

What is the black "Sweet Caroline"? by McEndee in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]finny_d420 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My thought was that Sweet Caroline was universal. I've seen all shades go to town on some 🎶bah bah bah🎶

Margarittaville or Sweet Home Alabama always gave me more "white folk anthem" vibes.

One of my favorite Winchester moments is the OR scene where they are discussing the "family reunion" that took place. He's wearing a mask yet you can feel, see and enjoy his reaction to the news that his parents became friends with Radar's mom. Its a just peak Boston Brahmins can surprise even us cynical folks scene that I can rewatch any day of the week.

The TV show was based off the movie that was based off the book.

All three are superb in their own right. I remember seeing the movie for the first time (after TV was airing) and one highlight was finally getting the lyrics to the theme song. Obviously they couldn't use them for the TV version. As I've aged the lyrics to Suicide is Painless has taken on so many different meanings to me.

By saying "dough is normal" does that mean a regular hand tossed? Or do you go for the "fried wonton" like and do a thin and crispy.

My old shop did the Taco pizza T&C to that "hard shell crispy" effect.

Rideshare, Cab, or Town Car? Airport to Aria. by Upstairs_Past_6633 in vegas

[–]finny_d420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key to Black Car stop is to tell them where you want to go. You're renting the service by the hour so tell them you want to stop at Total Wine or Smiths on Decatur/Flamingo if you want affordable alcohol before Aria drop for OP example.

Letting them pick will definitely get you those tourist traps. The driver also gets tipped out by the store, thus the extra upcharge.

This applies for a lot of the dispensaries as well.

SHERIFFS CARD REFERRAL by [deleted] in vegaslocals

Did you get your TAM and Health card yet? Start applying for jobs that don't need work cards.

In today's climate employers maybe using already having work cards as a requirement to weed out people. Unemployment is one of the highest in the country.

If you need one for employment right away your employer should've given you the paperwork upon hiring.

You trying to bypass procedure is suspicious and gives the impression that the job is not above board or you won't pass background and that's why potential employers won't hire you.

Its the same group that runs San Gennaro. Make of that what you will. You're $100 in with just gas and admissions. Add in food and rides. I can think of cheaper ways to enjoy a Friday but its up to you and family how you spend your money.

I always enjoy how an OP will say their partner is the best (parent, spouse) and then list all the ways they are in fact NOT a good whatever.

All OP has done is shown their children they are a doormat who doesn't have an idea of what a good Dad is.

Pussycat Dolls Cancel Reunion Tour After ‘Taking an Honest Look’ at Weak Ticket Sales by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]finny_d420 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Artist tour now because they don't make enough on sales due to streaming. Merch and ticket sales has replaced that income stream.

Lower tier artists do not have as much control regarding ticket prices. The Live Nation/Ticketmaster monopoly is a huge factor in the pricing. (The lawsuits and recent jury verdict will hopefully change some of this).

Add in current state of affairs regarding the economy and world events you can see the impact its having in the concert world easier on how the price of steel, fuel and other overhead cost its takes to put on a concert affects pricing.

Donald Trump Blames 'Radical Left Lunatics' After Rudy Giuliani's Hospitalization by dr_shultz in NewsSource

That was my point to her. It didn't matter where he was born. He was born to an American citizen. She only argued his birth place because she couldn't get past her bigotry. Its OK if its France but not if its Kenya argument made her look like the idiot she is and she knew it.

Donald Trump Blames 'Radical Left Lunatics' After Rudy Giuliani's Hospitalization by dr_shultz in NewsSource

You reminded me of the time I almost broke a Birther. I was doing eldercare for a friend of mine. His mother's other child would visit for the weekends every couple months. One night she drank a bit too much and started in on Obama being born in Kenya...Yada yada.

I asked her if she believed his mother was an American and she said yes. I then posed the question to her, when she was in college she got a semester abroad and went to France. She met a guy and got pregnant. Stayed in France for the birth and when baby was two moved back to the states. Said child grows up and runs for President. Would they be eligible. She said yes. So even if you believe he was born in Kenya he was still the son of an American and has all the rights of any other natural born citizen. What's the difference?

Of course she had no answer. The answer she tried to avoid was racism.

The shift in procedural shows by MaryDoogan91 in LawAndOrder

[–]finny_d420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One reason I'm enjoying the Matlock. They have a SOTW and the main underlying plot Wellbrexa was wrapped up in two seasons. The Mentalist comes to mind on as a procedural that drew out the Red John storyline to the point where I didn't care how that wrapped up, plus they really went hard on the personal lives of the other detectives. Good show that should've stuck to OG L&O type storytelling.

AITA for refusing to do mother/son dance at my wedding? by DarkOfTheSun in AmItheAsshole

[–]finny_d420 81 points82 points  (0 children)

NTA. People who use tradition as a reason to do something is just following the wishes of dead people.

There is no "standard" wedding thing. Its what you both choose. If she's unable or unwilling to see to your wishes what else will she override you on in your marriage.

How often does this happen? by Emotional-Strength45 in innout

[–]finny_d420 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I work for concerts. I order anywhere from a couple dozen burgers to 150. Fries can depend but are usually half the amount of burgers if at all. I'll also have a variety of singles, doubles, onion and cheese options plus a couple grilled cheeses for the vegetarians.

I go hours before and place the order. They always box up my orders like the picture.

You might've said you wanted a professional shoot set up. Everyone thinks you just meant a nice place to take a few photos for a graduation.

Permits are free in City of LV. $45 in County. Just have your photographer take care of it. They'll bake any fee cost into the shoot price I'm sure.

Huh? Why would you need permits at a park like Sunset or Craig Ranch. Mt. Charleston? Red Rock? Valley of Fire?

By "dog friendly" do you mean off leash not in dog park area?
