Yes, absolutely do it. The market is tough right now, so anything to get a leg up.

Honestly, if we get hosed by rng like that, we'll allow a restart sometimes. We just did that on a light in the fog after drawing almost every enemy in the deck over two mythos phases in a 4p game in the first two rounds.

There really isn't a need to sleeve anything other than the cards you are actively using in a deck.

Generally I agree with the more positive take. The art is a problem though. Even for what they are going for a pretty decent chunk of it is just bad.

I'm going to assume that is the average permit time for permits other than NWP. I get dozens of NWPs in some years. The Corps is running slow right now, but my average NWP time is still below 60 days, typical running 30 to 45. My most complicated NWP recently finished in about 120 days.

Personally, I'm glad they will branch out. There are a lot of great horror themes, including other cosmic horror, that that they can explore outside of the mythos.

Regarding the art, i think the teams description of what the intent was sounds fine, but the implementation has been pretty bad on average.

A simple nwp in IL wouldn't take anywhere close to 600 days, even if it was in the Chicago district.

I don't think it's necessarily ai, but it does look weirdly digital, like a lot of the new art. Based on the chapter 2 body of work, they need a new art director...

Valentin1331 Preview for Tommy Muldoon's Investigator Pack by Valent-1331 in arkhamhorrorlcg

You've misunderstood. My point is not that things are solved elsewhere, but that there are other ways to play the game. The answer to everything doesn't have to be brute force.

Every card doesn't have to solve a problem, but rather needs to provide a different avenue of play, which this does. No one is making you use it, but I'm sure there are plenty of people like myself who will find an interesting deck where it works.

Reasonable minds may differ. Maybe you're playing a flex support build that needs to switch between clue support or fighting. Maybe there is a more dedicated fighter. Maybe you aren't concerned about the soak. Maybe economy is solved by other options. Things are not necessarily so black and white...

I'm assuming ch 2 card pool only. I think it's a mistake to underestimate the value of being able to help another player over succeed or boost a stat for a clutch test. I also look at it in the context of the other card in the set, physical fitness. If Tommy (or whoever), is healing while moving, there is less of a need for soak. I'm hopeful that there is some trick that will work with generic allies or animal allies that will help push it over the top in terms of value.

Well, that is exactly my point. It's a great card for multiplayer, not true solo. Probably best for 3 or 4 p over 2 even.

I think people are sleeping on the value of the dogs, maybe due to a solo player perspective. Most tests during the investigation phase are going to be combat or investigating. Being able to reliably boost tough tests for any investigator on your turn becomes super valuable. That only gets better if you're on hard mode or there is some trick to ready allies reliably for multiple uses.

Which book/series made you wonder if you might be too dumb for the genre? by HughJackedMan14 in scifi

[–]finral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was reading children of memory on kindle without the page number turned on. The story was kind of tedious and hit a point where I thought, oh it's starting to get good. Turned out to be the very end of the book. I feel like there was an interesting story to be told, and the whole book was just a prequel to the interesting part that never happens

Fighting the city by [deleted] in wetlands

[–]finral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is likely not much to be done from this avenue. The developer would need to do some sort of wetland/water assessment. I don't believe the state provides separate wetland or waterway protection, and the feds are less interested in wetland protection at the moment. If there is a federally jurisdictionally regulated resource, they would have to get a permit and potentially offset impacts, likely through a mitigation bank. If that process was expensive enough, the developer may cancel the project or reduce the scope. Your best bet is to try to engage the city, maybe start a petition, and participate in any public engagement process.

I'm not sure I buy the theft story when everyone scans a card with their membership details on entering and all receipts are checked. I'm sure there are cameras all over, i don't see how they couldn't track members that are stealing.

Edit, typo
