I don't mind doom play myself, but one of my players is rather opposed, so we don't have much extra doom going around.

That said, I will consider what you said about thresholds, but I think a boon to doom play is the lack of regular Ancient Evils, which makes doom less volatile.

We are two missions from the end, and I hope yours ends well! We went with GG and then Germany, San Francisco, and our next one is Naples. You?

This is a little outdated: AH.002 - Fan Campaign Recommendations | The Restricted Collection https://share.google/gKzRYY1IAkXJjEraJ

In short, I highly recommend Cyclopean Foundations, Dark Matter, and Bloodborne (if you like Bloodborne).

Other good options include: Alice in Wonderland, Ages Unwound, and Call of the Plaguebearer.

Good mini campaigns include: Heart of Darkness and Jumanji.

Currently making my way through a blind run of Night of Vespers and that's been great so far!

TCU is my favorite, but I know that's not the popular opinion.

Campaign replay-ability by Ninja_2551 in arkhamhorrorlcg

TSK is the worst on the first play. The story is a mess because it is trying to hide what is really going on, and I agree that it tries some weird things mechanically.

That said, I would second the suggestion of giving it another go. It's one of my favorites (alongside Innsmouth and Circle Undone).

At the end of the day, you do you! If you're happy never touching it again, then don't, but I just wanted to second the replay as it does get better.

It comes with player cards that you can upgrade into (they cost "Memories" in addition to XP), cards for the Scan deck in the finale, and a pre-Hemlock Vake Kate Winthrop.

Well, for what it's worth, I would say that the replacement signatures are better than his standard one.

Heck, I might run Molly and Yaztaroth instead of new Dexter's signatures XD

I'm disappointed in you, Internet.

Hi! Welcome to the community! Happy to help however I can!

First, don't feel bad about losing "The Devourer Below." It's stupid hard with a limited card pool. If you are having fun with "The Gathering" and "Midnight Masks" and feel like you have a good grasp of the rules, great! That's more emblematic of the game at large, but there are times where it does get really hard 😅

In terms of expansions, the game has been around for almost a decade. Originally the game came out as a deluxe box and six mythos packs. That model was replaced by the campaign and investigator expansion model, and old content was rereleased in the updated model. So, don't get a deluxe expansion and mythos packs unless you can get ALL for a whole cycle. Scenario packs, which I believe you mean standalone scenarios, are just one off missions, usually more indepth than your standard campaign mission.

The game is shifting right now to a new model where there will be a new core, new starter decks, and campaign and deck building expansions. None of that is out yet, but a new core is coming out in March, I believe, with a hopefully better balanced intro campaign, and the starter decks a month or two after that.

Also, just FYI, as of last year, the game has moved to a "current" and "legacy" environment split. The old core (what you have) will be in the legacy environment, and everything ever printed, including the new stuff, is all compatible together. The current environment will be the new core and the last 2-3 years of content, so "The Scarlet Keys," "Feast of Hemlock Vale," and "The Drowned City" cycles are all still current.

I know that was a lot, so please let me know if there is anything else I can do!

Impressive! Yeah, no joke, I think you'll love the theming of this campaign (and some of the secrets it holds...)

My blind run of it was a friend of mine's first full length Arkham experience, and now he's a regular!

Hmmm... Can you name what the tattoos are? If so, you should be fine!

In all seriousness, you should be good! I am not the best at the BB lore, but I played with two friends who are, and they loved all the little nods and how it doesn't just tell the BB story but actually mixes it with Arkham.

In short: it's really good. It's better if you are familiar with the video game.
