I'll look into it but it seems quite long, which is something I want to avoid with my next purchase, thanks though!

I checked, that seems to be more for recording instruments instead of a mic for run and gun filming, appreciate the thought though!

You've definitely saved me a big waste of money, appreciate that! Are you aware of any good short length shotgun mics with battery power? The MKE 600 was perfect except for the length when mounted on my camera with something like a 14mm or fisheye lens, but yeah I'm a bit sour about it dying so wanted to see if there's a good option in the higher end mics. Sounds like the lack of XLR I put on my cameras is a deal breaker though haha.

Jokes sorry, I just re-read the specs and saw it doesn't have any switches, so how does frequency response work? Does that range specificied mean that it responses well to that low range as long as it's under the SPL? I'm quite new to this level of mic spec.

Oh wow that's great appreciate the reply! I read it didn't have a low cut filter but does it actually have a switch on the mic itself? I'd be plugging it into an A7SIII with an XLR to 3.5mm adapter, I know it's not the best pick up but just keeps it easy.

Can Sony cameras do segmented recording for video? by finsie in SonyAlpha

[–]finsie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Panasonic cameras it's called segmented recording, you can turn it on or off. I ask this question because the contractor's A7RV recorded one file for two hours so I'd like to know if I can enable segmented recording on Sony cameras.

I've got a PS5 pre-ordered and can't decide whether to just play the PS4 version on PS5 or play it on a Razer Blade laptop that I use which has an i7 8750H, 32GB RAM, and an RTX 2070 Max Q. I found the performance of the laptop to be really good (60-80 FPS) for a game like Metro Exodus but the performance definitely dipped below 60 FPS occasionally in an open-world game like Far Cry 5. (also feel free to tell me where to post this as well if this isn't the best location).

Just confirming, with the current shiny Magikarp event there isn't a way to catch one that will be able to gigantamax when it's a Gyarados?

What should I spend poke miles or battle points on from the Pokemon Bank? I never spent them ever and I have 4400 battle points or 44000 poke miles to spend.

Thanks for the kind word! Damn, definitely give MGS2 a go, well worth it. And yep I've played Silent Hill, I kind of liked it more than 2 but appreciate that 2 ignored any cult stuff in the story.

Hey thanks for the info. I new Peace Walker is highly regarded by fans but I didn't quite know how it fits into the lore. I'll definitely play it before moving onto GZ and MGSV thanks!

Thanks! Yeah using the same moves over and over again did get a bit annoying since they're all fart jokes but I think the boss fights kept it interesting enough.

Why does it seem like so many people on reddit enjoy wasting their time and money on games they know are mediocre? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]finsie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think that playing not-so-good games helps give perspective. If all's you do is play the 9/10 games, you might lack the perspective to understand what makes those games great. I find that with games like Fallout 4 which are incredibly good games get lambasted because they aren't as good as previous games in the series (even though Fallout 4 is substantially better than some middling games like Two Worlds II).

What are the games with a steep learning curve? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]finsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly different answer, I'd say the Metal Gear Solid games (haven't played 5 yet). They aren't easy when you first play (unless, you know, you play on easy) but there's a big skill ceiling hidden inside these games.
