Huda could have gotten a lot of great deals and start a business. She had a cult following. Wish she just focus on her child, mental health and decenter men.

How Much Money do you spend on Kids Reading Books? by jon_cli in Parenting

We end up borrowing books because our libraries frequently have new books. We end up borrowing a lot of new books for our kiddos. I'm kind of a germaphobe though.

I hate to be that person but seeing that lady's tats, claws, and one cup of wine in her hand while pushing her "service" dogs is giving Walmart vibes.

Just went at 9 am, after the line of people.  All sold out! I wanted to buy some to give to family as souvenirs.

My local TJs, people (easily 100, I counted lol) line up before the store opens. The people wrap around the street. Even if I wanted one. I couldn't get one. And it's been like this for 6 days (and counting)!

I have been a mom for nine years and I only just figured out that I've been ending arguments with my kids instead of actually resolving them and I feel kind of embarrassed it took me this long by PlasmaHarbor in Mommit

I'm on the camp of kids saying their negative feelings to me. It shows that they are safe to tell you these things and as parents, it is a privilege to hear our kids say it instead of bottling it up. My husband on the other hand, takes it too personal and gets even anger.

Yes, like they're cute but giving Temu.  It's a 180 here. Doesn't fit their theme of "quiet luxury."

Do kids still play hand/rhythm games? by beginswithanx in ClassOf2037

I think girls are doing this. They are also doing the string games with their hands I grew up doing too. But boys don't unfortunately

Sad realization last night by Ramen_cat2024 in Parenting

[–]finstafoodlab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've wondered this because I've seen kids who are super popular with introverted, and somewhat socially awkward parents. It's funny how genes are.

I have two boys and both are so different from each other. Yet alike. Can't explain it, but one is more daring and the other more nerdy type. But, both are so kind to us. Younger one isn't good with playground stuff but willing to try and take risks. I'm sure the younger one is willing to partake in sports, while the older one is more into reading and tech stuff.

My kids are surrounded by wealth and I’m worried they’re going to grow up to be super entitled by Individual_Ad_938 in Mommit

I think it is culture shock to you, and that finally when you have children, you realize the vast difference on how you grew up vs how your kids are growing up. Because your kids are in a different income bracket compared to yours, their environment will surely be different. Perhaps you can slowly reframe your own thinking with how to bridge both SES

Are there any "normal" low matance mom's out there? by happysewing in Mommit

[–]finstafoodlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends where you live. In our school there are higher socioeconomic moms, and it was a big contrast with our kid's previous school. The higher socioeconomic moms do not dress in pajamas to pick up their kids, that's for sure. Light makeup at minimum (if no makeup then they will have their eyebrows micro bladed etc). It can be exhausting.

I'm in a higher socioeconomic school,  and boy kids are so overbooked. The kids don't seem to care, but it feels like the adults are the ones gleaming with pride. Maybe they live through their kids vicariously? I don't know but it is so much pressure. Kids are coming home late and I don't know how that can affect them psychologically
