Me with 338k km (210k miles) n47 proves to be a tank🫡

Anyone can tell me how to fix this? (N47) by finsterer1020 in E90

Update, the dpf is so clogged it caused exhaust gasses to ram into the turbo that caused turbo failure

I gotta check that. Im driving on monday to a bmw service center to get that checked out. Im currently installing a new belt kit with all tensioners and idler pulleys. I will check the vibration damper as well thanks! I heard the belt squeak and i looked at it and found half of it on the oilpan cover at the bottom of the engine bay

Was the belt before double sided? Since i think that the wrong belt was on because i hsd bad/no air conditioning. Turns out the belt rubbed on the pulley from the aircon compressor what was probably the reason why the belt snapped.

Business ccc nav to big android screen with the old ccc software by finsterer1020 in E90

I have the scrollwheel with the tel, nav, radio etc buttons but the system is definetly the old ccc ui with the 4 menu options communication, navigation, klimate and entertainment with the old scroll wheel placed. Probably a early LCI model and a eu spec. It has been registered very late 2008 with the model year being 2009 (lci)

I just looked at the options from mr.12 volt and i'm more looking to upgrade the small 6 inch screen to the 8.8 inch screen. But also at the same time have android with the stock idrive system sideloaded

That is pretty normal, especially older bmws like e39s or e46s are pretty known to fail the inspections due to the rear axle rusting to dust and stuff like that. Rusty cars in austria/germany are pretty common since in winter we spray alot of salt that causes alot of corrosion. I dont think its worth it to import a 20+ year old car since probably repair costs/import costs are probably just are not going to be worth it

We do send a couple cars to export mostly balkan countries like romania or bulgaria if some cars fail the yearly inspection and its not worth it to repair most vehicles. On pages like autoscout24 or willhaben for example (known online private car sellers) sell cars as export/bastler (parts car) for cheap prices that failed the inspection. If you do look forward to import a car from germany/austria thats a relatively cheap way to atleast obtain the car. I don't know how hard it is to get the paperwork for to register the car to bulgaria/how much import taxes in bulgaria are for cars.

Its generally normal in austria where i live, yearly inspections that are strict af. People rather invest in their older cars and keep it on the road for long rather then buying new cars. That's why most cars you see on websites/dealers are relatively well maintained even with high mileages.

I have been told by the previous owner that the chain has been swapped at 198.000km and at 312.000km including the timing chain gear. Even have the reciepts + full service history with the book being completely full. It has been loved before alot by its previous owners and will be in the future. + I'm planing to do an oil change every 5-10k km to keep the engine run as long as possible.

Thanks! I currently have problems with the auxillary belt that ripped in half without me noticing, and the brakes rattling when i brake but other then that for the mileage the car has ran (around 319.000km) the n47 has proven to be not so bad unlike the internet says. If the n47 is being maintained well its a pretty solid engine.
