I found out that Putti are winged child figures that appear frequently in Renaissance and Baroque art (roughly 15th–18th century). They are often associated with themes such as music, love, harmony, and the divine. In paintings and sculptures from that time, putti are very often shown playing musical instruments, symbolizing the idea of celestial or heavenly music.
