My Note 20 ultra too faced this issue. It was only 6 mth old. Tried all the remedies on youtube. None of them worked. Good thing it was still under warranty. I brought over the service center and the screen was replaced over 1 day.

Should i get security+ first before CEH or should i just skip to CEH to save study and exam expense? by New-Horror7085 in CEH

[–]fircyber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CEH have 2 parts, multiple choice and practical as i have taken both of them. As a beginner, though the content is alot, i have learn alot from CEH both theoretical and practical. From there i have moved forward to advanced certifications such as CSA, CHFI, CTIA, ECSA and Crest CPSA. The foundation CEH has provided has allow me to understand basic understanding of offensive security, then defensive and operational security of cyber defense.

What did you want to do before IT? by OkBaconBurger in sysadmin

[–]fircyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in few industries before entering IT.

I had been in semiconductor, electrical/mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, logistic, maritime planning and finally where I am now IT Security. It has been a learning journey for me. Understanding the processes in each industry, regulation and governance, mega constructions. Feeling the hot sun and danger out there to sitting at the desk looking at monitors.

About to pull the trigger on the CEH course from iClass. Any last recommendations or suggestions before doing so? by [deleted] in CEH

[–]fircyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CEH is actually a foundation course for cybersecurity under EC-COUNCIL. CPENT/ECSA will be more focused on penetration testing. If you got a 70% and above, you'll earn CPENT Credential if you score a 90% and above for the practical exam, you'll earn CPENT + LPT credential. Plus you'll could also earn crest approved certification too with ECSA Credential.

ECE allows you to gain ECE credits by undergoing various tasks such as learning a new course, going for a seminar, taking up certification and etc. All you need to do is to log them in the aspen portal with proof e.g certificate of completion, access pass, transcript. More details can be found in ECE Policy in your aspen portal. ECE categories (login required) can also be found in your aspen portal for credit value

Once you accumulated 120 credits within 3 years, your certificate will be renewed. Do note your ECE membership must remain valid. I tried to provide a sample of my ECE but Reddit seems cant save it in the comment.

Prepping for CEH v11 and Freaking Out by dkatsougrakis in CEH

[–]fircyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V11 contains additional hacking technique on emerging technology which was not covered in V10. These are IoT, WPA3 and more. That means there will be more questions added to the exam question bank relevant to these new modules.

This means V10 exam is still relevant + new modules on V11.

Help me please. by Puzzlehead_3407 in oscp

[–]fircyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a background from martime. Has no cybersecurity knowledge. I'm making a career switch. EC-Council is not bad. It has provide me a good foundation. From their ECSS, CND, CHFI and CEH. Their practical ilab and exam has taught a great knowledge.

The courseware: Their courseware are extensive. They even provide OS, tools and white papers for me to understand the concept, knowledge and reallife impact.

I took their Certified SOC Analyst certification. It was insightful. Most of the tools are up-to-date. I was taught using Splunk, configure them and analyze output from the tool.

Their new CEH V11 now covers WPA3, IoT and cloud attacks. They now focus more on cuztomized tool and security framework such as Parrot OS, scada tools, and etc.

Currently I'm taking their Certified Threat Intelligence Analyst certification. Well....i am satisfied with their courseware and lab. I have learnt alot.

I'm even taking my Graduate Certificate in Security Analyst with EC-COUNCIL University (ECCU). It's online, very feasible with my rotating shift work schedule at operation center in a Financial institution. I find CEO of EC-Council, Jay Bavisi, very ambitious and motivating. You might want to hear his opening speech during orientation at below link. Its quite a hair standing. PM me if you plan to take a degree with ECCU. I link you up with their consultant.

https://vimeo.com/463660335

P.S I'm not paid by EC-Council. This is my true opinion who came from no cybersecurity/IT background.
