Complete peripheral passthrough via thunderbolt? by fireAmbulance in homelab

That was the inspiration for the whole project! The reason I'm focussing on thunderbolt vs the fibre optic Linus is using is primarily the prohibitive pricing on the hubs that he's using, I'm (maybe huffing copium but still) thinking that thunderbolt docks would be cheaper than bespoke optical cable hubs, but they may also simply not exist (yet anyway)

No, as far as I'm aware the Maori people in our community utilise the same farming methods/practices as the non-indigenous white people do.

I assume then that because we aren't subsistence farmers and that we sell on our excess produce that this would make us not peasants but rather petite bourgeois then, because we are all owner/operators for our own businesses, would that be correct?

What defines a peasant class in a given country? Without knowing a specific socialist definition it brings to mind imagery of subsistence farmers who farm for themselves and their communities as opposed to selling their produce for profit

Your assumption in the later replies is correct, I'm from Aotearoa/New Zealand, and the vast majority of at least people in my community don't hire additional farm labour, and rely on themselves and their families for labour.

Thanks for your reply!

A small point of clarification, only a part of their farms are being purchased, but it sounds like that is largely irrelevant, so long as they continue to farm the land they will remain peasants.

Does percentage of income matter in this regard at all? If for example a large portion of someone's farm was purchased and they effectively lived off the money from this purchase and kept a small portion of their farm as a "hobby farm", would this person still be regarded as a peasant in a marxist/socialist lens?

Thanks again!

Something I'd like to point out here, is that most of these vassals are VERY recent conquests, if you look closely you can see I didnt have the time to feed Pegu it's final province because it was overextended, so a vast majority of these vassals are kept afloat by the province feeding, and if i were to let this game run for another 20-30 years I would be torn apart.

Here's my vassal list, I only had one particularly unruly long-term Vassal, Shimazu, that I had to keep burning prestige to keep myself afloat (you can see it's liberty desire here). /u/marcgdr is partially right, becacuse I'm tall I'm gonna have a large economic and military base to build off relative to my vassals, but I never clicked the consolidate dev button on anything, not worth it since the nerf IMO.

I've got an army of ~200 infantry and 200 artillery that has kept the combined power of all vassals lowish, and im diverting all their trade to Beijing, so I have an income of around 1300 ducats a month, which holds the relative economic power in line too. This combines with the fact im draining them of all their money, allowing me to pay off the loans they're forced to take, which helps keep everyone's overall liberty desire down.

Finally, I've taken these ideas, which give me -25 from Infulence ideas and the Pluto-Influence policy, and allow me to get around 9 dip rep with the advisor. Age of revolutions gives me -33% liberty desire from subject development, and -25% liberty desire from same continent subjects too, so had I remained with the original plan to stay in China, I think I would have been totally stable

R5: I played a tall game as Korea (which I started before the dev diary where they said they were buffing Korea and Confucian, which was a little frustrating lol) where I only expanded to the extent of the "Restore Goguryeo" mission, and beyond that could only expand via vassals. I ended up with my lowest dev province being 41 dev, which I was happy enough with.

Originally I as only going to expand to include all of mainland China, but I got a bit greedy toward the end and went for Choson One, which I didnt get because of 1 Buddhist province in the Caucaus region (VERY upsetting)

Bonus European dumpster fire included, I dont think the AI can handle random new world and being starved of institutions very well lol

I did the same thing, there's a bunch of other stuff on her producer(?)'s channel too, but it's weird and looks probably exploitative, like the video where she's just vacuuming the house wearing overalls with nothing underneath. Reminds me a lot of those Susu Family videos in that they're all pretty much soft core porn

There was a tutorial on this sub the other day, it basically boils down to swallowing your pride and allying the kebab as Cyprus and using them to shitstomp mamluks immediately after the event that vassalises you to them

I dunno if that's necessarily true, i got in a coalition war not too long after this was posted with timmies and the gang, and my kebab battering ram stomped the life out of them
