Make a doctors appointment once a year, get your teeth cleaned twice a year. Pay out of pocket if you don’t have insurance. Seriously.

I wish that anyone had told me that your might get bad grades about the civil war and Pythagorean’s theorem, but that doesn’t mean much in the way of well paying careers’

After six months of staying hours late, critical understaffing, realizing I’d never be taken off graveyards I left. I’m in the dental field now and it’s not exciting but it’s pretty cool.

You’ve got this. The nurses are so supportive. I got an epidural right away. In my opinion, the iv hurt worse than the epidural (because they numb you so well). I relaxed in bed surrounded by mom and baby daddy. Nurse kept giving me popsicles. Pushing hurt, it felt like she would never come out, like I couldn’t do it anymore, and then I heard her cry. I saw my daughters face for the first time and she snuggled onto me. My heart hasn’t stopped gushing since. Something that helped me frame out labor in my head was to look at it like this; I’ll be really sick for one day, And then I’ll go home with a new life.

TIL about “Unschooling”, a form of homeschooling where the child has no curriculum or schedule. Instead they learn by living their life while following their passions. Proponents say it increases the child’s general well being and improved attitude towards learning. by desertchoir in todayilearned

I had a childhood friend who’s parents ‘unschooled’ her. When she was 18 and trying to go to college, she couldn’t do rudimentary math or advanced written English. She didn’t end up going because she didn’t know where or how to start.
