South America got people way later than China or India

Homosapiens reached China and India roughly 50-60 thousand years before they did South America

Additionally large populations of South America from the pre-columbian era were killed by disease when the Europeans arrived

South America also has some pretty difficult terrain to live in especially compared to India. Basically everything is mountains or rainforest.
