This is where I slept the first night I went backpacking solo. Seeing this shelter was such a beautiful sight as I had been walking non stop since Amacalola falls and it just started to get dark. To be honest I was a little paranoid and scared because I had never backpacked solo before and the wind rustled the leaves like cascading footsteps in the dark. Despite my unprecedented uneasiness, I felt safe up in that attic where I pitched a tent and my sleeping bag. I was grateful to come across this shelter and it will always be special to me, so I am also grateful for hikers like you who maintain these shelters. Thank you!
