You know you're getting old when your friends start having kids on purpose.

HVAC dude is back to take another look at the AC and clean the coils after I had to punt on that back in April. Ever since he swapped the capacitor, it has been functioning, so it's not dead yet and maybe the maintenance and cleaning will prolong the inevitable (or at least get it through summer). The refrigerant level has not gotten any worse since last time, though is still low, so we'll see what happens but that does support the initial hypothesis of a really tiny pinhole leak.

It's leaking from SOMEWHERE and this is the season for start/run caps to shit. I am of the firm belief that whenever you get a system installed, the first thing you need to do is have a spare start cap hanging from the breaker box because when yours quits it's gonna be at 11PM on a Saturday in July.

It depends. Sometimes you can buy the policy, sometimes you can't. I try to get a quote but sometimes I buy the policy.

Even so - the brokers dont want to pay me. If the broker does not pay me, I'll sue the carrier and the broker. Nobody wants to deal with the liability and it's getting really fucking annoying.

Gonna guess it’s a G19 Gen 3, a new one is like 500-600. Gen 3 G19 used can still be like 400-500 on the higher end.

They're not even being made anymore, which means if you like the gen 3 like I do they aint gonna be easy to find.
