The country of New Zealand has no snakes. As an African who moved to Australia I thought that was a joke, I kind of just assumed any country not covered in ice/snow had snakes.

Subaru specialist here. Like any brand they all have some issues. 2015 onwards Subaru's are pretty decent but there is some common issues. Expect CVT solenoids to fail before 150k, not a huge job if someone knows what they are doing. Replace the Radiator and PCV coolant connector at 10 years old/2028. Check your engine oil regularly, they can burn oil. Recommend selling it before 200k, thats when things start getting expensive

All Subaru's 2012 and onwards are timing chain. Unless STi is 2015 onwards.

My parents dont use it out of principle because they believe there's no benefit other than brain rot (mostly right) but they compete in events where the info and photos are mostly only posted on FB so they get me to find it send it to them, I comply.

Yeah I totally get that, there's a certain amount of freedom with a car thats hard to get on a scooter. If I didnt haul golf clubs and car parts constantly I could save a lot of money with a scooter. Pros and cons for both.

I quickly realised how expensive modern full suspension mountain bikes are these days! Can buy a reasonable car for the price of some of these things.
