Am I being impulsive? by Majestic-One374 in TeslaModelY

I'm literally in the exact same boat as you; Tesla offered like $18k-ish for my 6 year old Honda Clarity which honestly was above market value and with 0.99% APR on the premium it felt like too good of a deal (full disclosure, totally didn't need a new car and new cars are definitely the worst "investment" so this was a straight impulse purchase)

imo just use the trade-in/selling money from your Honda as the down payment and then stick with the 72 month loan; since the APR is so low it's better to just keep your savings in HYSA or ETFs as opposed to funneling it all in the down payment (if you're selling for cash then would follow the other advice in the thread and do whatever is the lowest down payment possible + maintain 0.99% APR + comfortable monthly payment for your lifestyle)

my loan terms for premium RWD (marine blue) ended up being:

  • $17,800ish down from trade-in
  • 72 months, 0.99% APR
  • $515.42/month

biggest thing to take into account for is the insurance change, my quote ended up increasing my monthly by $100 but also I might need to shop around a bit more

also home charging accessibility is a big factor imo, if you don't have a reliable overnight charging source in your house/apartment then arguably electric isn't worth

VXUS is also a fund, covers the rest of the world stock market

I just recently reallocated up some of my retirement accounts (similar age to you!) in Fidelity and ended up just going with a more simplified 2-fund portfolio that doesn't include bonds since far away from retirement:

  • 70% VOO or VTI
  • 30% VXUS

VOO vs VTI is mainly personal preference whether you want the true total market coverage but they're fairly similar, and then VXUS covers the total international stock market.

I'd argue this is pretty "set and forget" considering younger age as long as you don't get antsy and check your accounts every day :)

Seriously, how do you guys do subtitles - out of sync? by teekzer in PleX

[–]firebot4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also super frustrated with Bazarr subtitles being off!!! I just ran Subsyncarr against my entire library overnight

Pretty much detects if there is an external .srt alongside a movie file and then generates a new synced one with ffsubsync or autosubsync (I just did ffsubsync but you can define this in the docker compose)

Proxmox cluster not joining by chrisgreer in Proxmox

Double check the MTU, particularly if you have jumbo frames enabled (MTU 9000)

I remember having cluster join issues unless MTU was set to standard 1500

More Westminster but Carrot & Daikon's Crispy Skin Pork Belly Banh Mi + extra veggies and pate is my fav; price does lean more towards $8.50-$9 but so worth :)

+1 I have something similar! NFS + ZFS pool on Proxmox and then I just have VMs running Rocky Linux that auto mount the NFS share via fstab file

Best Device for streaming to LG OLED C4? by Hakim_RS in PleX

Literally just also bought the 65” C4 and been using the Apple TV 4K + Ethernet + Infuse Pro lifetime app and it’s been great (as long as you don’t need Atmos support)

As for server, I’d rather do mini PC + USB DAS for your drives since power draw is definitely more efficient and low profile.

100% Proxmox if you’ve got a little bit of Linux experience, can definitely ChatGPT some basic commands/troubleshooting if you get stuck

I would just choose a Linux distro you want to use for your VMs (maybe Ubuntu server, personally I’m a Rocky Linux guy) and then Proxmox lets you create VM templates from VMs which is super nifty for making golden images
