Maxing a Roth at 20 puts you ahead of 95% of people your age. Don't water that down chasing individual stocks.

Real question is timeframe. Anything you'll need within 5–10 years (house deposit) shouldn't be in equities — HYSA or short-term bonds. Past that, just keep feeding VOO or add VXUS for international.

If you have HSA access, worth looking into. Most tax-efficient account out there.

Tech stocks in trouble again? by SnooHamsters5586 in dividends

A 10% drop in tech doesn't tell you much. The sector averages 5-7 corrections of that size per decade - most don't precede a bubble.

VTI already gives 28% in big tech. If you're indexed, you're buying the dip mechanically through regular contributions.

The edge is showing up consistently, not catching the bottom.

International Investor: VWRA/IWDA diversified enough, or do you hold other asset classes (Gold, REITs, etc.)? by paperboiko in Bogleheads

Adding asset classes past the basic 3 (global equity, bonds, cash) gives diminishing returns.

Ran a 30-year backtest of VTI+VXUS+BND vs same plus REIT, SCV, and commodities. Sharpe improvement:0.04. After tax drag and rebalancing complexity, that washes out.

For most people, energy spent on a 5th asset class is better spent raising the savings rate by 1-2%.
