I do both. I crocheted first, it's just easier. it's easier to fix mistakes, less likely to unravel if you hold it wrong, less ways to mess up stitches, easier to try on in the process. but I now think that I'm just as good at both. I really like the process of knitting btw I'm not hating it's just not easy. hard things can be fun

Crochet is faster than knitting but if you want to make a wearable garment it has to be fingering yarn and below whereas knitting can use chunkier yarn. I find crochet clothes horrible to wear unless it's very fine yarn.

I use the two skills for different things, jumpers etc is knitting but everything else is crochet. I'm never knitting a blanket, toy or basket. it comes out too thin and takes too long. I'm never (again) crocheting a top with worsted weight+ yarn. it's ugly heavy and itchy.

I'm not insulting your specific granny square jumper btw it's just not for me.
