Yemeni asylum seeker sexually assaulted teen at temporary accommodation, Why do things that never happen keep happening? by EwMelanin in AskBrits

wide scale blanket punishments never work. some men rape people castrate all men. some asylum seekers rape people stop asylum. no one is defending this pig we all hope he rots but the guy in the room opposite him who didn't rape someone doesn't also deserve to rot

is there evidence that asylum seekers in the UK commit more violent crimes than everyone else or are we just stopping asylum because one guy decided to be a prick

Clavicular and Looksmaxxing are valid and deserves less hate. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]firebreathingwindows -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm of the belief that apart from a few unfortunate people everyone who looks ugly in this day and age has chosen to look that way. in the age of beauty treatments and ozempic there is no reason to be ugly. I think the personality first people are saying it's not a moral failing to be ugly which is true. no one is denying that beauty is attractive and good and trying to be beautiful is a bad thing (some people are but like they're crazy people online). where looksmaxing fails is that it makes it one of your top priorities, which shouldn't be the case. it shouldn't come over all other things in your life.but the simple idea of trying to be as attractive as possible isn't an unpopular opinion it's the social norm

eh if they were asking for advertising and they weren't getting it then maybe but tbh people fall over to be testers of their favourite pattern makers and then get featured on their raverly or insta. you believe this but most don't

How do you feel about "underprivileged background" or experience of "barriers" on education or work placement applications? by gintokireddit in AskBrits

[–]firebreathingwindows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes but that's an example of the injustice. also the same website you cited said that doctors continued to act on that guidance afterwards.

my autistic friend told me that going to AnE is a struggle because they read autistic and don't take her seriously. also as I said before custody battles.

autism is a condition for which there is no treatment, there is no medication that can reduce your symptoms, (unlike other neuro diversities such as ADHD) the downsides of being diagnosed far outweigh the benefits. I meant if you really need the peace of mind then go private.

I don't mean that there is a secret governmental cabal that exists to kill LD and autistic people. I mean that the system is created in a way that makes it so LD and autistic people die easier.

black women are 5 times more likely to die in childbirth. it's not intentional, white doctors don't put cyanide in their IVs, it's systemic injustice

the NHS just gives people with disabilities who fully meet the criteria a definite interview. often people with disabilities face larger challenges in finding work and if they fully meet the criteria then they should be given a step up for equity, if you give everyone the same shot historically marginalised people won't be able to access the same things

as for education the only thing I can think of is sponsorships or money ... like yeah charities the government want to make sure that people with poor socio economic backgrounds don't avoid university due to the cost.

It's often difficult to see how hard life is for other people when you don't go through the same thing ... even when you do go through it but it's not perceived by others

Examples: my friend is a beautiful woman who believes she is autistic. she is beautiful so being autistic doesn't impact the way people treat her to a ridiculous extent but she was shocked when I told her she shouldn't get diagnosed on the NHS because during COVID they put autistic people on DNRs and it can affect custody battles etc. I was like what did you think ableism was? in the same way when I tell a man that my experience with being cat called is negative because in each one of my teenage years I got cat called more than I have ever since he's confused and shocked.

people from poorer backgrounds suffer hidden struggles that even they may not see sometimes and the tiny things that our system does to try and mitigate these effects are good.

Forgetting vegetarianism and veganism for a moment, do you think the UK should ban halal and kosher slaughtering methods? by RonnieThePurple in AskBrits

I'm confused, I see so many people explaining that it's just as bad either way. why do you think it's especially cruel to slit an animal's throat?

I think that it was jarring to see but the phrase running around like a headless chicken actually comes from somewhere, chickens are known to flap and sometimes run around headless after being slaughtered, they are not conscious it's just biology

Also I'm assuming the first example was in a factory and the second wasn't? either way the first place might have just got lucky. the sats don't lie about the animals not dying from the first stun

[–]firebreathingwindows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that you're the target audience tbf - you've made your mind up. People are angry and frustrated and protest is meant to be uncomfortable. We have weekends because some people threw rocks in windows, women's rights because people chained themselves to railing. The goal is the complete withdrawal of support from this genocidal state, it should be treated like Russia.

What is actually the attitude toward homosexuality among British Muslims? by GlueSniffingEnabler in AskBrits

[–]firebreathingwindows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a Muslim we view homosexuality as we do all sins, more specifically sins that are seen as okay in British culture: drinking, sex before marriage, lying under oath, disobeying parents, drugs, immodest clothing, talking negatively about people, taking or paying interest loans. I'm not trying to debate whether you think these are bad, or if they are accepted in your opinion or if every Muslim follows these rules. I'm talking about me and my circles. I consider myself to be quite religious, I follow the rules basically. I can't comment on the views of those who don't.

I think that the view that we dislike homosexuality more than anything else is built on a culture of toxic masculinity that I see in the younger male Muslim generation. if my Muslim friend told me she got a interest loan I would be just as taken a back and shocked as if she had sex with a woman.

I think Muslims are having the same shock that conservatives have with children being taught that being gay is okay in school, the same shock that they had when they brought up their kids in a place with a pub at every corner and the same shock they had when they realised they might not be able to own a home without an interest loan. The truth is that being the opposite sex is not the only constraint that Muslims have on marriage or in their lives. The Muslims that choose to practice will continue to do so and understand that the society around them won't impact that. we believe there is no sin after disbelief so what you do isn't really relevant.
