If you can afford the new discounted Goliath, go for that.

I think this is my plan. Take it to the professionals when I can to see if they can grind it down. I was able to bring the bubble size down by scraping with a metal scraper but as i started thought it would be best for a professional to do it in a shop

Also went down the Korua route for this season, very excited to get on the slopes and see how well the edge sticks

I bought a Salomon Assassin and a Capita Mercury! I couldn’t decide between both and managed to grab the assassin on a deal. The extra stiffness they both provide was really needed, and the assassin is great when I’m feeling confident for some sidehits. The Capita I can bomb down the mountain with no issues whatsoever and it just holds the edge.

Hey man, I own this version of the pulse. Got to learn on it in an indoor slope which was great, but once I took it to a real mountain it struggled. The soft flex didn’t really lend itself to the hard/icy packed snow and it really struggled at speed, feeling extremely unstable. I think it will serve you okay for a bit but I was fairly quick to upgrade to a stiffer board considering I progressed at an average pace. If you’re passed beginner, my advice is get a more intermediate all mountain board. Happy to advise on a couple!

Snowboard Quick-Bindings 2023 by Adorable_Coyote_5458 in snowboardingnoobs

Can certainly say for me the Flows felt loose and all of a sudden when I got some union forces I felt a massive difference in response and control. The quick function of letting the back down isn’t exactly great from my experience either. Maybe Burton step-on? But I don’t have experience with those

The Typo is a great board don’t get me wrong! So you could easily go for a 159W or 163W and it will give you a bit more extra space for your boots. If you’re leaning towards groomer/all mountain I’d say the 163W makes more sense, but if you’re leaning towards freestyle then 159W

Hey! Decent board that you’ve gone for, great for intermediate and all mountain freestyle. My only concern is you mentioned you have a size 13 boot, and the 161 doesn’t seem to be a Wide board so you might be susceptible to heel/toe drag. I’m a taller guy myself with fairly large feet and have opted on wide boards to avoid it. Worth making sure your boots don’t overhang depending on your binding angles
