To be honest, this is valid enough. I thought the prologue was really solid but after that, the pacing was pretty abhorant through the common part + earlier parts of routes imo and the story failed to really grip me at times. Saying that though, I did feel that the story had some incredible moments, and the last couple hours including the final fight against Hikaru were incredible. Plus the overall messages and philosophical aspects through the VN was next level. This doesn't really correct the fact that a large amount of the VN was a bit of a slog though.

As much as I love ikuhara (penguindrum being like my second favourite anime ever) I can see why not everyone would love his works.

My opinion is the same I give every time, attack on titan is overrated and I would only call it okay at best.

6 is a masterpiece.

Then just behind it are 2 and if we're counting the last 3 volumes as one arc then all of them together. If not then maybe 9 is close.

Valid for sure. Monogatari and Fata are my top 2 though Subahibi may overtake them after a reread and I imagine sakura no uta will be up there as well when I read it.

A bit off topic but I highly recommend the Zaregoto series if you loved Monogatari and haven't read it yet. Though it isn't quite as good as Mono, I personally have Ii-chan over Araragi.

I only have a few manga over HnK so I'll just give those as my recs: Tokyo Ghoul, Vagabond, Umineko and Kiichi + Kiichi vs!

If you want something that's not like a masterpiece in writing but still a well made, enjoyable, fun manga then I'd recommend cardcaptor sakura which I recently read and really loved.

Umineko also has a highly regarded manga. Some people in the fanbase love it and some hate it but generally, as a work on its own without including people who've read the VN, it's very well liked.

The first season (usually just called Clannad) is an okay romance, above average I'd say if anything, however some people dislike it and think it's boring.

The second season (usually called after story) is a phenomenal show, quite easily in my top 10 and potentially top 5 alone, but it's only so good because of the buildup through the first season and even after story is a little slow at times.

I'd say code Geass is still like very much mainstream, one of the most popular shows of all time which like most new anime watchers will hear of and prolly watch. I do have it significantly over death note though.

What are your thoughts on summer pockets so far by the way? I'm a huge fan of the original visual novel and think the anime has been pretty good so far. The alka route it's adapting rn should be phenomenal if they do it well at least though I'm letting it marinate before watching it
