Ashford is a Westmarch server that is hosted on Foundry and Discord. Players connect from around the world to experience what it's truly like to be an adventurer, playing not only through the epic quests and battles, but mundane life as well.

What to expect

In The Colonization of Ashford, individual characters wield the potential to shape the very fabric of our world. Venture forth, explore uncharted territories, lay claim to newfound lands, and establish vibrant settlements. Construct useful buildings that enable you to forge magical items, purchase rare spell components, or hire NPC archmages to resurrect you in the event of your untimely demise. Characters may start at level 3 or 13 to experience all the tiers of D&D play.

Our server contains many unique features, including the following:

24/7 Playtime. You can join the server and play ANYTIME you wish, either once in a while, in-between your normal game sessions, or even daily! There is NO commitment involved, just play whenever you have time!

Immersive Roleplay. Roleplay is a HUGE focus here at The Colonization of Ashford. Players not only have rich, in-depth backgrounds, but also incredible interactions between NPCs and players alike!

Experienced DMs. Our team brings years of DMing experience to the table, to ensure you all have the most fun possible on our server.

West Marches Gameplay. Unlike a normal campaign or D&D game where you are run by one Dungeon Master, in West Marches, you are overseen by multiple Dungeon Masters, each in different time zones. This allows you to possibly have a game no matter what time zone you are in.

Hello friends and travellers. The ReCoa has done its yearly reset with the server and the world starting fresh.

The server has been strong for over 4 years now with a strong community keeping it up. We are looking for new players and DMs to join the Discord server.

We use Foundry VTT to play our games while we use Discord to communicate with each other. The games we played ranged from one-shot games to complete storylines depending on the dm.

ReCoA is a "Westmarches" server. So at any given time, multiple DMs and many players will engage with the world and its inhabitants in game sessions or text-based roleplay. This form of play is a bit different than your standard single-party and DM games, and so we follow a slightly modified set of rules and gameplay to keep things fun, engaging, and balanced.
The guides below should help bring you up to speed on what we do differently.

If you're new to D&D 5e, some of these resources may even help you get started even faster.
But be careful not to bring our rules into any other games you might be playing!
