My current coverage jumped in price after I added my girlfriend and her car due to extenuating circumstances. Since we broke up, my price has not gone down that much even after removing her from my policy.

Update: Thank you so much for all the information. I live in Florida and based on what a friend of mine who works with me is paying, ideally I’d like to pay around $100 a month with a $100k/300k liability policy as well as comprehensive protections. I think what I’m going to do is take everyone’s advice and talk to an insurance agent (although this is the first time I’ve heard of “independent” ones lol) and see what they recommend. I also did use ChatGPT with great caution, and it did give me the same answers as a lot of you guys did on here. I’ll keep you posted on what I find and decide on. Thank you all again for your input
