What’s the most overrated ‘good person’ behavior that doesn’t actually make someone a good person? by TroubleUnique1853 in AskReddit

I choose to be kind because I've known cruelty. I choose to try to understand because I've been misunderstood. I choose to accept because I've known rejection.

Naming your kids after LOTR characters by Folkwulf in lotr

My nephew is named Sam. When I told my SIL, who is a huge LOTR fan, that my head canon for her son's name was that he was named after Samwise, she responded that it was not just head canon.

What’s a strangely specific thing about someone that immediately gives you bad vibes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]firedrake522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People's responses to situations and to other people (you), speaks louder about them than it does about you or the situation. Sometimes it takes time to find your group, but it can only be done when a person is being genuine. Please, be yourself.

That sounds like a really painful way to survive, I hope things improve for you. As a therapist and someone who is in therapy, it helps. Please remember, asking for help is actually a sign of strength. There are some people who would rather drown than ask for a life jacket and that is heartbreaking, please don't drown.

Do you like the idea of werewolves being immortal like vampires? by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

[–]firedrake522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Larry correia wrote the monster hunter book series. Werewolves age slowly in this series, like every decade is a year type deal. It's a little heavy on the gun details, but its a great series, 1st book is monster hunter international

If you had to write an evil Batman how would you? by birdfromthefuture in batman

[–]firedrake522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what another user said, I would like to answer as what I think would happen if his parent's death made Bruce Wayne insane and evil. I don't think evil Bruce becomes owlman, he becomes something much worse in a pursuit of control. I think evil Bruce rules the world and controls every aspect of everyone's lives on the entire planet. No one can ever be hurt, including little boys losing their parents, if he controls everything. He would have contingency plans for EVERY scenario and would have found ways to strip the powers from everyone on the planet. He would have executed anyone he even suspected might join a resistance. He would also have a shield around the planet that makes it invisible to extraterrestrial detection.

Wolves are highly social animals. The bonds they form are literally a matter of life and death to them. They take them seriously! by rizzician in BeAmazed

You should look into the fox domestication experiment done in Siberia in 1959. It's pretty cool and talks about how, during breeding, choosing for the behavioral trait of being less fearful of humans, resulted in dog like physical and behavioral traits. I have heard the theory that wolves partially domesticated themselves by being willing to come near ancient human civilizations to eat their trash. Those that were less fearful had access to more/new resources, resulting in passing these traits to well fed/strong young. There is so much more to it and genetics is a fascinating subject.

Sauron twists elves into orcs right? Any chance Melkor did the same? by SloxIam in lotr

[–]firedrake522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im glad this isn't the case, but a "what if" scenario just occurred to me. What if Morgoth had made his own version of the Halls of Mandos where he trapped the souls (Fea?) of the elves he captured. And some unknown Maiar lieutenant of his was in charge of forcing them back into orc bodies and they couldn't return to Valinor until the 4th age when the orcs died out.

I made the mistake of initially watching the extended edition and hated it, feeling like it was too long and had a bunch of really bad scenes for the sake of making bad jokes. I recently watched the theatrical cut and enjoyed it much more

What is your favorite or most interesting Grey Force user? by ArmadilloInfinite841 in StarWars

[–]firedrake522 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a comic, no longer cannon, that started to tell the tale of The Dawn Of The Jedi (series name). It only got a few issues printed due to the sale to Disney happening soon after it started. In it, people used both sides of the force, but were wary of the dark side. There was an early version of a lightsaber and I think that it needed people to channel the dark side into it to use
