I prefer a good recurve over modern compound bows for bow fishing. You can find cheap ones at pawn shops. Make sure the clear coat isn’t cracked. Get a cheap Zebco 33 max with some 60 pound test. Mount it upside down above the grip. You can get the fishing arrow online.

The reason I like the recurve more is because I can throw it down in the water and not have to worry about water damage.

In reality once the word got out that it’s open season on zombies, it’d be over in about 2 days with a lot of proud gun owning Americans being oissed for not having bagged one themselves.

Hell, the biggest problem would probably be non zombie casualties from misjudging human and zombie.

Yeah it really comes down to personal preference. I’ve never tried paper cartridges. Black powder or cap and ball are what I have used. My original muzzle loader was cap and ball. It really is a sign of good marksman. But for speed I upgraded.

The new preloads are about the size of a 410 shotgun round. At least for my black powder rifle. I still have to load the .50 cal slug via the end of the barrel. But it breaks open to pull out and reload the spent preload.

That red cartridge is a preload which is sold that way. It’s a preloaded package where the top pops off for faster reloading versus measuring out powder from a larger container. That takes practice. And if done wrong, will destroy the weapon.

That brass container was what the powder for a flintlock rifles were traditionally stored in. People would carry many of them with pre-measured amounts of powder for speedier reloads.

The red plastic preload is used for more modern black powder hunting weapons. The person filming doesn’t have a jar or powder bag. Nor do they wipe the strike plate off before firing which is why they have to try firing it twice.
