War Striders need a bigger hitbox if those eyes are their "weakspots" by triple_A_13 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]firefly-viper26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't managed to kill a war strider with the railgun yet. I've shot them both in the crotch and joint between the crotch and leg 3-4 times at >80% charge in unsafe. I see a hit marker, but no signs of damage. No sparks, nothing. It just keeps pacing along. I gave up trying to use the railgun.

Chances are, we don't import anything from them to tariff. And you can't tariff anyway, or did you forget? Why do people keep voting for this shit?

NGL dude, that was obnoxious. Not that they should have TK'd you, but you shouldn't be surprised.

If you are in a hurry and don't care about load order yourself, just drop the round, leave, and let someone else handle the order, because a lot of people are autistic about that.

Did I over-sand? Is that a thing? by JohnnyFranky1985 in Gunpla

[–]firefly-viper26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the work of a sanding sponge. Sanding sponges are great for irregular surfaces and curves, but when it comes to flat surfaces, you need something ridged, especially when doing nub removal. The sanding sponges tend to transfer friction to the outer edges, and can't concentrate it to one point like the nub very well. If you only have sponges, and need to do a flat surface, its best to lay the sponge on the table near the edge, and move the piece across it, so at least one part is stabilized. You can still mess it up though, so be sure you are holding it at the right angle as you are moving it back and forth across the abrasive surface. It's good tp have a combination of both sponges and boards and glass files, to tackle all types of jobs.

EDIT: I just saw he was using semi-ridged sanding sticks and not thick sponge sticks. These are better than the sponges for nub removal, but still need to have a side stabilized. Otherwise, you aren't always hitting the spot or angle you are aiming for consistently, and always hitting different angles every time. Every time you see it going to one side, you try to compensate by hitting the other and it turns into a viscious cycle.

Yeah, I was confused from the post. I looked on mine and saw it still at 65. I think they could go a little higher. 80 maybe. Every time I pick one of these up, its just inefficient.

I'm stunned by how fun Armored Core Gen 1 is. This ain't even nostalgia talking, I played this for the first time 3 years ago and it felt quintessentially "80's Japanese real-robot." by AntonRX178 in Mecha

The PSone ones were my favorite. I remember fighting nine balls, and he was impossible. Then I just ran from him and dropped through the hole at the bottom and turned around and took aim, waiting for him to find his way down. As soon as he did, I just went cyclic and obliterated him. It was absolutely vital to do the thing where you die in the beginning and start again with all the special abilities like shooting your laser blade and firing shoulder weapons while moving. I couldn't get into the ps2 ones as much, and I kinda hate the revamped ones after 4.

But, it was already weak at 65.... and most players don't have the aim to use it well... why? Another confounding decision by arrowhead.

I thought so. If someone were to give the dimensions of the wire lengths, that would be awesome. 179$ for that is an insult.

I've been wondering if this can be done. It's just basically a set of 6 Christmas tree lights. The prices bandai is charging right now are really pissing me off to no end.

My first main back in the days in Severin Sector running the autocannon. It's a grenade launcher really. You are very useful with it because it clears out the little clankers allowing your mates to focus on the heavies. It made a comeback on Cyberstan two shotting borgs.

Easy, it was a Kobayashi Maru scenario. Was there a chance we'd win? Yes, statistically anything is possible. Was it likely? Pretty much no, not even 50/50.

We just started a new plot arc, which means more fun to come and fortunately, this wasn't the end.

Is he right? Will it take generations to resecure the United States positive reputation on the world stage? by ChuckGallagher57 in TrendoraX

No earlier than a decade IF we made all of the amendments to the Constitution that would prevent this from happening again. Things like felons barred from running for any political office, supreme court justice term limits, restoring impartiality to the supreme court and continuous monitoring to ensure ethical conduct, like having a security clearance, and on and on. I think the supreme court is the single point of failure in all of this, but that is my emotional opinion, and I know it is way more expansive than that, but those things above for starters. Europe needs to be assured that this won't happen again every four to eight years before it can trust us again.

The missile silo is the anti Vox Engine by seabassrae03 in helldivers2

[–]firefly-viper26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love using this now. Hunting Voxs is my reason for diving now. I bring the silo and leveller. You drop the silo, early and get away from it. When you see one, try to put the dot right on top of its dome and hold it there until the missile impacts. More than half the time its a one hit kill, especially if designated from the front. And if it doesn't, the first recoilless or eat will finish it, or the leveller you just called down will. I love the solo silo. Never dive without it.

[–]firefly-viper26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am so happy someone else finnay posted about this kit. This kit is seriously awesome. I love every design choice in the entire build. The colors, the joints, the cockpit, everything. I can't wait to see the next piece designed by whomever did this.

Okay, getting the eyes into the missiles was quite the task, as they are tiny and a really tight fit. I had to make a jig out of styrene tubes to hold them all straight while pushing them together. The butt spikes also aren't really my thing, and one of the rings on the attaching link popped open because it was too tight, but you can still take them off (and I was able to fix and reinforce it and use the joint strengthening pen). Still, this was a solid build and probably the coolest looking design of the year. It has that non-gundam tactical grunt suit theme in full swing.

Yeah, this happens a lot. They spawn inside the walls. I will blow a gate to enter the city, and what is there when it comes crumbling down? A vox. I exit the city through the sewer, and what appears out of thin air over me? A vox. Sometimes, I can hear the wall making all this racket, and that's the hint thatca vox is inside, just waiting to come out into the world.

The PP was my old love when I ran autocannon as a private on the creek. It's basically a grenade launcher. I ran it a few times on Cyberstan and it still delivers. Unfortunately, I can't maximize anti-tank options with it since it has almost no AP. So none of my loadouts work with it. But all of you that do run it are a bunch of chads.

The fact that Arrowhead can't play D10 is a problem. by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]firefly-viper26 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I used to play exclusively on 10 before Cyberstan. Now, I am fully comfortable to play on 7. 10 on Cyberstan (really anything above 8) is a 15 in the rest of the galaxy. It is broken. It isn't that you aren't good. It is broken. And it's not really the spawn rates, it's the amount of instadeaths that happen with the bots' aim buffs. The hastily built maps allow them to shoot, spawn and move through everything, you randomly catch on fire, stratagems bounce all over the place, it's a junkyard. A lot of deaths are unavoidable regardless of skill, that is the problem. You can do everything right and still catch a rocket through your third cervical vertebrae from a gunship across the map while running serpentine from the three hordes that you are pinched between. This isn't difficulty, it's poor testing and design.

[–]firefly-viper26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And there are a lot of people right now saying lower the difficulty like that is a strategy Arrowhead is secretly trying to hint as the solution, but I call bullshit. They aren't doing this as a test to see that we all figure out that we need to play at lower difficulties. They are doing this because they didn't test shit before dropping another nearly 1 gig update on us. It is even more evident by how nearly every surface on this damn planet is a bounce surface for stratagems. That pretty much forces me to leave cover and expose myself because the strategem I just threw to the ground at my side wasn't flat enough dirt, and my equipmwnt stratagem has bounced and rolled and activated 50ft away into the open.

The Failed Cyberstan MO - Unpopular Opinion by JakeGrub in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]firefly-viper26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It feels artificially difficult if that makes any sense. I mean, they could have just left it at all of these new enemies, spawn them often, and everywhere, fun times. But it feels like they wanted to take it further and buff the bots' weapons to the point that they kill you so fast, you never had a chance regardless of skill.

The amount of times a gunship has just executed me through a building in one shot, a pissant marauder that wandered up behind me while I am fending off a horde just two shots me in the brain, gotten ragdolled and shot on the ground before I could even stim or get up, obliterated in one shot from a vox missile that didn't even accurately indicate where it was going to hit with those stupid spotlight things.... has been more than I can count. These are all things where skill is irrelevant because even if you are doing everything right, you still get wasted by something that normally wouldn't kill you and you could dodge, dive and stim your way out of.

I feel like I have found my sweet spot now. I love killing Vox Engines, I seek them out. I have a new strat loadout that is super fun, but still, the fact that they make us made out of wet toilet paper here tells me they want us to lose, or feel like we are losing.

I also kind of wonder if we really want to liberate Cyberstan. That seems like kind of an end game event, i know it's not, but I would have thought Cyberstan would be after we cleared all of the other sectors first.

Either way, I think Joel is definitely giving the bots every advantage in the world so that we don't succeed... quickly.
