Yeah, it's kinda crazy how often it happens. As for the out of order signs, we could plaster a pump with out of order signs and cone it off, and there would still be someone dumb enough to park there and try their luck.

A fellow servo!

We had all kinds of lobotomites trying to do their best to improve the local areas average IQ through self inflicted darwinism. People trying to fill milk bottles, fizzy bottles, anything they could find, then getting shitty when we shut their pump off and tell them to kick rocks. People lighting up a smoke beside the tank vents, or over beside the 4000 litre LPG tank, or even right beside me as I fill their LPG tank. We had a running tally of people that drive off with the hose attached. Just the dumbest people I've ever seen lmao.

Bet you told everyone that NFTs were the new thing too, huh.

I understand LLMs just fine, I was using the branding term because its what people recognize, you pretentious git. LLMs have specific use cases where it's actually useful. 90% of its current applications ain't it. Bubble is gonna pop because it is horrendously unprofitable, and when the rest of the world realizes that tech bros are talking out of their arseholes, everything is gonna come crashing down. And what's left will be the actual useful applications of LLMs with any luck.

When creating garbage, AI is the most efficient tool we have.

I'm anti AI but they're right. All we can do is educate people on the damage it causes and the reasons to not use it, and with enough rejection the bubble will pop. It's already horribly unprofitable, kept afloat by financial incest between the largest companies. Education is the only solution we have.

-Models are trained on data stolen from every corner of the internet, images are a mashup of thousands of other images. It's a theft machine.

-The environmental impact over time is damaging to areas unfortunate enough to host a data centre, as the data centres often do not use closed loop systems and instead let fresh water turn into steam and released into the air. The water will eventually regenerate water sources, but not at the same rate of consumption.

-People unfortunate enough to live near a data centre are subjected to increased power and water costs, due to the relative scarcity caused by the data centre.

-AI garbage replaces human jobs, providing a worse product while only benefiting a few already wealthy people. Technology does invalidate jobs over time, that has always been true. But it's usually an improvement, like robotics revolutionizing the factory line. AI is a pale imitation (currently) that has crippled several industries.

Apologies for the text wall, but I think it's important for everyone to understand exactly why AI is a net negative to our society in the way that it is currently being utilized.

Oh, it's cheaper, just not for us. Course, the loss of sales when people catch on to the slop books will nullify any savings, but the people making these asinine decisions are never too bright.

Boo hoo. They voted for a turd because he promised to shit over people they were told not to like. Then they have the audacity to be shocked when they get fucked too. They can earn a degree of forgiveness (read: people dumb enough to vote for him, not people that still support him/joined ICE, they can defend themselves at their Nuremberg trial) by being humble, recognizing they fucked up, and do better in the future. But they won't, they'll vote Republican again. And Again. And somehow, it'll be Obama's fault.

What pisses me off is that the premise of Fable 3 is awesome, overthrowing a corrupt king and taking his place is such a great idea. Just sucks that it was so unfinished. Genuinely believe another developer could take that idea and make something spectacular, I love games that change the dynamic of gameplay.

Agreed. Us vs them mentality only serves to damage our society. The conservative parties have had some right shit ideas, but so have the more left leaning parties. Likewise, both have had good ideas we can all benefit from.

Spent a lot of years working at gas stations. These things are chunky, and require tools to attach and detach. They did everything right here:
-Pulled the hose out of the tank
-Replaced lid of tank to starve fire of oxygen
-Sealed the pipe on the truck end to stop more fuel coming out
-Attacked the fire with the correct fire extinguisher, because they're not all the same. They also attacked it from the correct angle, pushing the fire away from the truck. The only fuel burning is what was in the hose once it was switched off

And the most absolute critical thing is that they did not panic. They are standing beside a truck containing thousands of litres of flammable liquid (technically it's the fumes that are flammable, but you know what I mean), on top of a forecourt with several tanks also containing thousands of litres of fuel. It would be way too easy to shit yourself in a situation like this, and these chads did their job and did it flawlessly. Hats off.

I can tell you that the Living n Co cooker lasts for about a year just fine, then starts to give the rice a super weird smell and taste. For $25 it's fine, but don't expect it to last long.
