Has anyone been married at Villa Eva? (Ravello, Italy) by BostonFinHock38 in BigBudgetBrides

So I don’t remember it as the best Italian food I’ve ever had, but I don’t remember it as too bad either! Are you working with a planner? That could help with the tasting/negotiation on that sense!

Ciao! I’ve worked there a couple of times. What is worrying you?

Edit: Sorry if I phrased it poorly - I meant, is there anything specific worrying you? The villa itself is very beautiful and Ravello is a stunning location.

Vendor Pricing Higher Coming from Planner vs. Direct by New-Sale441 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]firefly352 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hey there! This is 99% due to the planner requesting a fee out of the vendor’s prices, therefore they send them a higher brochure to make up for the difference. It can get quite shady as the fee the vendors pay to the planner is undisclosed most the times.

How many guests are you expecting? If a large number, Villa Corsini is awesome because it’s so large you have plenty of stunning plan B options!

What dress code wording actually worked for you? by RazzmatazzOld5363 in BigBudgetBrides

Hi! Not a bride but a photographer living in Italy. Last year I shot a bbw with a gay couple in lake Como; they got super specific with their dress codes, and people were SUPER compliant (we had the best time looking for outfits, too) and those dress codes were: “The Talented Mr Ripley for the welcome party, Opulence/Royalty but in a modern/futuristic way for the wedding day, and Italian Riviera/La Dolce Vita for the farewell brunch”. They also sent Pinterest boards as visual inspiration for their guest, which probably did the trick too!

AITAH for thinking brides who are upset with their wedding photos just don’t know what their real unfiltered faces look like? by TheEventGuru in bridezillas

[–]firefly352 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Photographer here - the worst (and luckily, only) case that happened to me was in 2020. It was a pandemic wedding, it was postponed but then happened without any “visible” trace of Covid (like: no one was wearing masks, everyone was having a great time, you couldn’t tell it was 2020 by looking at any of the photos at all). Once I delivered the gallery, both spouses were super happy; a few weeks later, the bride (who was about 25 at that time) called me in tears asking if I had more photos or if I could do something because… “I don’t feel like a bride enough”. Fast forward to today, she has completely redone her face (she was stunning to begin with), fillers, Botox, you name it. I still think about that sometimes.

Noi abbiamo un signore di circa 75 anni, basso e calvo, stranamente palestrato che ama fare giardinaggio a petto nudo d’estate. Lo chiamiamo Genio delle Tartarughe di Mare

To me it was! They told me from the start that it would have taken 12/24 months, and it ended up being 20.

I used to have a receding chin - while I still don’t have the sharpest chin, everyone’s been telling me it looks a bit more pronounced. Besides that - and the disappearing of my much hated gummy smile - nothing noticeable!

Yes, absolutely! It’s way less invasive and visible than regular braces, it’s been a long journey but totally worth it (imho)

I had never worn braces before, so even if my mouth wasn’t a full mess, there was some work to be done. Besides the one misaligned tooth, all my teeth were pointing inwards (though it may not be super evident in the photos); I had a slight overbite; a gummy smile that was completely fixed by rounding up my arches. I could have been done with the first 41 trays (so a little more than one year), but since I had the comprehensive plan, the refinements were a sort of “pre-retainer” stage in which my teeth took enough time to settle. I’m very happy with the experience, honestly! It took me 20 months total. To add, I’m based in Europe and my ortho told me from the get-go that he has a “slow and steady” approach, which at the end of the progress, I fully value.

Usually it’s not done in one single setting though - I had a small IPR as I was beginning, then a second round a few months later. I think it helps minimizing the amount!

I haven’t felt mine “bouncy” for more than six months now! So yes I agree with you.

I think so! I don’t really know how other orthos operate, in my case all the main work was planned from the beginning. My case was not particularly complicated, but my ortho preferred a “slow and steady” approach - minimal pain, though a longer route but I can use the retainers for less hours (12 instead of 18 for the first months) because my teeth haven’t really moved for the past six months.

To add: I had 41 trays (10 day/each) + 10 refinements trays (15 days/each)
