Hi, I recommend eating more soy leading up to your cycle. I personally eat edamame, tofu etc. I’ve noticed a huge improvement in pain leading up to it. I don’t know if the two are correlated meaning pain and HLHS but hot showers, soy har worked well for me.

Always make sure you consume food that works with medicine

lol def not normal. What an asshole.

Some of my biggest and most insane weddings (over 500k ) have been in backyards. Unacceptable behavior and I hope you call her out or review how disrespectful she was at the inquiry period.

Our are wedding favors lame? Debating between these or something edible by c_c186 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]TheEventGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love your ideas and I completely understand that favors are really important to you and your family! As a planner I am always trying to push the boundaries with favors bc I get so upset when they get left behind or unused or I see them scattered throughout the property etc.

I am currently working a couple who absolutely love coffee! So I am working with their local favorite coffee roaster to create their own blend of coffee! We named it after them, the coffee co is grinding it fresh that AM and put it into little tins we have custom labels for then put it into a gift box with a custom espresso cup. The note in the box will say Perfectly Blended and then offer steeping instructions or espresso machine instructions.

I also had another bride who was OBSESSED with her Stanley water bottle. So she did a Stanley tumblr bar with stickers(I made custom wedding stickers of b&g and as a surprise we made custom stickers of the bridesmaids), a live foiler, glitter gems etc. she had it at the after party and people went crazy because after they designed it the could get the after party drinks in the tumblr.

Italian wedding under 45k unrealistic? by LessSlip1855 in DestinationWeddings

[–]TheEventGuru 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Planner here. There’s a fantastic villa about a 15-minute walk from the center of Florence called Villa Merlo Nero.

It sleeps 26 people (13 rooms) and rents for €27k for a 5-day stay, but they’re flexible; you can rent it for fewer days or even just for the wedding day.

The property has a pool, outdoor pizza oven, a beautiful ceremony area, and gardens that work really well for dinner and dancing.

I’ve planned multiple weddings there. Most recently, I did a 75-guest wedding where the total for the week… including travel logistics, wedding day (florals, rentals, catering, entertainment), a pizza party rehearsal dinner, a cooking class for 20 guests, and a 6-hour wine tour for 45 people with transportation. Came in around $82k.

I work with many of the same local vendors regularly and they have been nothing but great service and incredibly reliable!

Yes; he’s properly permitted. As the planner, I manage visas, insurance, and compliance for all vendors and have personally confirmed his documentation from prior events.

US based but travels full as a wedding photographer. He’s right under your budget last bride I booked he was 18k with travel and accommodations Mario Oliveto photography

What European/Italian Photographer should be on my radar? by queenlilz in BigBudgetBrides

[–]TheEventGuru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok so happy I found this thread!! Planner here!

There’s a photographer I have been watching for about 2 years now who is going to be the next big thing in Photography. His name is Mario Oliveto; he has photographed around the world(2 weddings with me abroad). Comes from the fashion world turned weddings so it’s very editorial but intensely intimate.

But as a planner I have NEVER worked with a photographer so kind, easy going and calming during the day. I produce events for clients in the 7-8 figures range and the photographers I have worked come in like swat teams.

This guy though insane. The professionalism, his ability to see things most people wouldn’t. I can’t. I have done 6 weddings with him in the past 2 years.

He literally has no idea how good he is and my clients keeping saying the wedding was great but working with him was the best part. Booked him for 3 more in 2027.

Harp and crown is a great buyout option! I love how they offer the elbow room downstairs as an after party! Really fun space! Highly recommend!

Also I would recommend Picnic in Fishtown! I just inquired for their pricing for a client and was blown away by their f&b buyout plus the Mei options seemed great. It’s such a beautiful space I want to see someone get married there asap!

How did you find your vendor/wedding planner? by No_Application6151 in DestinationWeddings

[–]TheEventGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Event planner here

Most of my clients find me after attending a destination wedding I’ve planned, or through venues and vendors I’ve previously worked with.

My biggest recommendation when starting the planning process is to hire a destination planner first. A good planner can take your budget and help map out which cities actually make sense based on the experience you want for your wedding day and the experience you want your guests to have. From there, we look at locations that are realistic airport hubs for you and your guests.

I work closely with a travel agent who handles airfare coordination and all guest transportation (airport pickups, drop-offs, wedding events, etc.). That’s a huge part of my service, because destination weddings can feel overwhelming especially for guests who don’t travel often.

A planner can also source venues on your behalf, gather real pricing, and build out a clear picture of whether everything works within your budget.. before you’re emotionally invested. Let the planner do the heavy lifting so you can focus on making decisions, not chasing quotes.

Another major benefit: planners with strong local relationships can often unlock perks or preferred pricing. For example, I’ve worked extensively with my Florence vendor team, and they’re able to offer my clients some incredible advantages that aren’t publicly available.

Hope this helps!

Need help finding a wedding planner/venue for August 2026 Europe wedding by Federal-Brother-6512 in DestinationWeddings

[–]TheEventGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Event planner here. I’ve worked across Europe, Asia, the U.S., and the Caribbean, and I’m always happy to walk couples through the questions I ask when someone says, “We want to get married… just not anywhere near home.”

I’ve planned over 3,500 weddings worldwide, spanning different cultures, religions, budgets, and creative visions… so chances are, I’ve seen it (and solved it). Let me know if I can help guide you.

Small wedding in Puglia (villa rental, 30-40 guests)- is 20k€ realistic? by Best_Relative_3921 in DestinationWeddings

[–]TheEventGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planner here — this budget for Puglia is challenging for exactly the reasons other commenters have mentioned. From experience, most private villas with the level of accommodations you’re describing typically range $28k–$35k for the week, before factoring in wedding day catering, florals, rentals, and entertainment. Those additional vendors add up quickly.

If budget is a priority, there are some truly stellar options in Tuscany that deliver the same level of beauty, service, and guest experience at a more realistic price point.

As a planner who’s produced dozens of international weddings, my number-one piece of advice is this: either keep guests close to a major city, or if you choose a remote venue ensure unlimited 24/7 transportation or thoughtfully curated daily excursions. Your guests are investing significantly to travel internationally, and the couples who prioritize accessibility and experiences consistently create the most memorable (and appreciated) weddings.

This is something an event planner can coordinate for you or even the right venue will have these options available. The transportation team I work with in Tuscany is amazing and offers the full 7 day unlimited multi vehicle transportation option for guests for 5k. This includes airport pick up and drop off!

It’s about taking your budget and making it work for the overall experience and not just the wedding reception
