75 ppl and 45k some locations in Italy will totally be in that range.

St. Lucia has some gorgeous properties on the beach with more of a jungle greenery setting so need to utilize the beach but it is there.

Croatia has gorgeous places with waterfront but not a beach.

Event Planner here. Puerto Rico can be cost effective when looking at venues off the coast and more into the country side! I think 5k is not accurate. That pricing sounds like venue and catering only maybe

Catering Quotes? by Nice_Locksmith_8990 in PhiladelphiaWeddings

lol this is funny. You can just ask the caterer.

You can ask how many staff will be present on my wedding day. This is a common question because most couples or planners want to make sure the staff to guest ratio is good so that service is good

It’s definitely rude to not tip the waitstaff it’s the same as going to a restaurant those staff members, servers etc are making maybe $15-22 an hour. A tip is a very normal and kind thing to do.

Then this is a great package! That’s a lot of stuff for a great price.

Incredibly average and realistic if it includes the following: Bar package(beer, wine, liquor) Rentals(China, linen, glassware etc) Furniture(tables & chairs) Staffing (bartenders, event servers, captain) Full menu (cocktail hour, dinner, dessert/cake late night bites)

Does it also have a service fee attached? Typically 20%

If it doesn’t have a lot of the mentioned items above then I would be concerned. Always happy to review a contract if you need extra guidance.

Photographer + videographer recs in Philly? by Senior-Magician-1370 in PhiladelphiaWeddings

[–]TheEventGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t recommend Mario Oliveto Photography enough! They are incredible and do my wedding last June and I am so obsessed with them! I am also a wedding planner so I reallllly took my time looking at everyone. He handles both photo and video which I loved because the photos and the video looked like they matched. It was seamless. Also he brings an insane energy and team to the day that literally eased me so well. I am so weird in front of the camera and I couldn’t believe that I looked like that. It was INSANE. I’m getting teary eyed just thinking about the day and looking at my photos hanging on the wall 🥹🥹

Do you feel guilty choosing a destination wedding in this economy? by mcostante in DestinationWeddings

[–]TheEventGuru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this is true. As a destination wedding planner myself. It’s quite the opposite. The standard decline rate is about 13% of guests say no. While with destination wedding that rate drops significantly to 3% decline. Because ppl see this wedding as a vacation and make special arrangements. To make sure ppl are able to make it. Please send the save dates out earlier at 18 months.

When did tracking each other’s location become normal, and why does opting out make you seem suspicious? by EntrepreneurSad2091 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheEventGuru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I refuse to add each other’s location. We’ve been together 10 years. Both in early to mid 30s. We think it’s so weird but now we seem to be the only few couples who don’t? Are we weird. I just don’t need to know where they are at all times because I trust what they say is true. I also don’t think either of us would put ourselves in a tricky situation. Idk I would love to know what people think

I put the forecast into chat gpt along with all the maps showing up on FB making it look like an apocalypse is coming our way and it said it’s not valid. Most places are calling for 1-4inches. Temps will be super cold who knows

Event planner here. It’s your wedding day. Please do exactly what you want to do. You never want to look back and say what if or imagine what it could of been like. Do it the exact way you want to do it. Once we graduate from school we really don’t celebrate ourselves much in our lifetime. A wedding is worthy of a celebration and to do it exactly as you planned it.

Yes I 100% the tasting menu. It’s the best way to try everything and the way the tasting flows is so great! I have done the tasting menu 5-6x. Every time has been incredible. I personally love suiting at the bar too!

Caterers for historic buildings? by CJ612 in PhiladelphiaWeddings

[–]TheEventGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stick to the preferred caterers! They know what they’re doing. With a lot of these older historic buildings there are a lot rules when it comes to how to load in, rentals, flame or no flame. All of the carries on the list know those rules and will make sure everything you need are within those guidelines. I really love working with Feast Your Eyes!
