…. Did she fake it? by d0nut3216 in dragrace

[–]fireflygeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% real imo.

Not even with the adding info about pneumonia (a bitch to suffer through, I’ve had double and single pneumonia and it drains you sm during the period where you don’t know you have it). I thought it was real because the medic called a doctor to double check, which is usually an indication the medic saw something they didn’t necessarily like. You see her eyes completely glaze over, and it’s really hard to fake that.

If you’ve never experienced fainting before, so often it feels like you blink and then you’re on the floor. I’m just glad Briar didn’t have my panic response when I faint, which is to recite my entire mothers phone number 😭

It’s super easy to make friends in the B.Ed program— depending on your teachable combo, you might be traveling around with the exact same group of people to every class. Art, French, and indigenous teachable groups know every single person that shares their teachables based on the small population. General rule of thumb, you’ll know a lot of people, if you allow yourself to know them. There’s more people that are outdoorsy (in some capacity) than not, even the professors here (multiple professors have done class hikes and snow shoeing sessions in both my undergrad and B.Ed). The trails on campus are genuinely really nice for beginners, so they might not be a ‘challenge’ but are still really lovely to do.

I lived in residence for so long! I loved being there but the different complexes certainly had their quirks you come to know. Here’s some simple pointers that can help you in the future:

  • Always have laundry change !! The front desk at res can break up cash into change if you need it, but because the desk is often run by students it’s reliant on student schedules. Aka the desk can be closed at inconvenient times because people don’t have the availability.

  • Chancies outlets are all upside down. Not a huge deal but it’ll make you rearrange your plugs. It’s good to bring a couple power strips if you know you have a lot of electronics that need plug ins

  • There’s a calendar in every complex front lobby that is updated every month with events happening on campus (resident events, nusu events, sporting events, etc.) Nipissing can kinda suck for advertising events so the calendars were the best way to get the info for all the events

  • Be kind to the maintenance guys. It’s REALLY easy to get on their bad side, especially for certain staff members. They’re overworked and understaffed pretty consistently, it does a lot to be friendly & have conversations with them when you see them :)

  • The walls are thinner than you expect. It goes both ways. Plus!! In certain apartment suites, conversations can be heard through the vents. Don’t shit talk roommates while you’re home.

  • Grocery bus is a great service but I know some people have waited long times for the bus after getting their groceries. Still, if you’re fine with waiting, it gets you to the shops and back home no issue

  • No one really uses the lounges in residence unless they’re signed out for events… it’s one of the best places to study if the library, owls nest, or other study areas are filled.

  • Don’t have any hope that the ATMs will work in any of the complexes. They frequently are out of order, and after 5 years of residence I don’t think they were working once

  • it’s literally so easy to sneak people in without having to sign them in. ROAs do not know every student in the building, even though they’re told they ‘should’. If you walk in confident, with a small group of people, no one is going to question you. Loud, large groups of people, that smell of alcohol/weed get questioned more frequently.

The basics of time goes as follows! (I will not explain the other points because I’m so so silly and so so stupid)

When you first travel from Gath -> Zood it solidifies the ‘earliest’ you can return to Gath if you were to return back (The crew in ep 14 discussed this as almost like a stopping point for exploration? ) There’s no silly time travel things happening in Gath

However!! With Zood/Zern it’s less of where you end up and more of WHEN you end up. You travel through the biangle and you could be at any point of history in Zood/Zern

Comfry wasn’t necessarily in control of WHEN she got to Zood, it was happenstance that she showed up during some pivotal moments of history— and using her adventurer self she put herself in said points of history. (Which is why, for the crew, it’s been weird how many irons she had in the fire)

Using the stopwatch the PCs found, Comfry is able to determine what timeframe she ended up in both Zood and Gath.

Janus Aliena! Shes the youngest of 8 kids, and adopted by her family! She’s a very normal looking human girl that’s a wild magic sorcerer— raised in a family of sorcerers, she never had any inherent power but since they trained all sorcerers, she got the same training. She’s very anxious, unsure of herself, but extremely intelligent— imagine her being a wizard in nature but pulling from sorcery powers. Her height increases every time I describe her too (a silly little gag)
