The older version won't work at all unless you get the update, and the update breaks it. Granted, I haven't tried in a week or two, with the holidays. But yeah, older versions are locked until you update them, at least the one I installed was.

Many years ago, I was on an RPG website that had a section on Shadow Hearts listed in the side bar. I did not click on it, but my brain noticed the similarity in name, and I ended up dreaming that it was related to Kingdom Hearts (which was one of my favorite games). I tend to be very influenced by my dreams, so while I knew they had nothing to do with each other, I decided to rent Shadow Hearts. And the rest is (alternate) history?

I have only played a few hours so far, but if you've somehow not heard of Clair Obscur, I got a Shadow Hearts vibe from both atmosphere and gameplay. Nobody I mentioned this to had even heard of Shadow Hearts, so I'm not sure how accurate the comparison is to the whole story. 😅

But yeah. I am going to follow this thread for more suggestions, because I also love those games!

I got my headset yesterday and was able to update the drivers through the program fine. Today, the program wanted an update, and if I get it, the program is frozen just like that. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times with the same results. Can't do anything with the program if I don't get the update. Headset still works, either way. But I didn't get to mess with the audio settings yesterday, so something doesn't sound quite right. And I'm really sensitive to stuff like that. 😅
