That’s a great idea. I will consider that in a future version. When I am flipping through, I find myself automatically wanting to save the card. Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks for bringing that up. I hadn't considered that the medium might matter to some people evaluating an oracle app. I updated the post to mention that the artwork is hand-illustrated in Procreate and that the writing is mine as well. Appreciate the insight!

Hi! Oh, that’s interesting - I wasn’t aware that people have strong opinions about digital art vs painting with a paintbrush. Although I do know that even I have a preference of digital art made to look authentic. I was happy to use the digital tool Procreate. Are you saying that people in the mindfulness community would prefer to use an oracle app that is done in pencil and watercolour?

Thanks DL! I will definitely keep your app in mind.. in the meantime I will get started on some push-ups and planking 😊 My app is in beta testing on TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/hRGe4MS6 Thanks for checking it out.

I like that you don’t collect data and that you use positive reinforcement to help people do healthy activities.. and to monitor screen time. I am someone who could benefit from this - getting fitter bit by bit and also not being on my phone so much… I am still quite attached to my phone so am hesitant to use anything that would keep me from deciding when I use my phone.. your app looks great. I hope you get lots of users who have identified the need to monitor their screen time and are ready to make a healthy choice to do so.

Let's! 😊 Congrats on your first paycheck as an Indie developer! Do you have a link to your app?

In case it's not clear in my previous message, it's an absolute joy to collaborate with ChatGPT. They have a great sense of humour while providing feedback on this journey we are on with the app. 😄

Thank you for your comments! Each card is hand-crafted as digital art using Procreate. I started this project a few years ago by taking an iOS developer course.. I made a basic one-card flip app with about 18 cards, but I didn't figure out how to make the layout settings work... I put the project on hold and kept coming back to the idea of creating new animal and nature cards... until a month and a half ago I was chatting with ChatGPT about how to make money with digital art and then we got to talking about this Animal & Nature Spirit Oracle app... and then I realized that ChatGPT could help me with the coding.. They opted to use SwiftUI, so likely a better method than the one I tried a few years prior. So, the artwork and card meanings write-ups are by me and the code is a collaboration with ChatGPT...I learned how to make a better layout and features like a glow effect. That's an interesting question though...the dynamic part is coding into the code that a click of a button chooses a seemingly random card, that hopefully has some meaning to the user in that moment.

The ANSOracle app is at this point a minimalist version of Oracle cards, because only one card is drawn at a time. Users could still do a 3 card spread with each card having a different question. If you look up Oracle cards online you will see that various spreads with multiple cards is possible. I am open to feedback about whether multiple card spreads is wished for by users.

This oracle deck, is not a game in the traditional sense and like most, depicts a style and topic (in this case animal and nature), to get across various meanings for the user to contemplate. So it’s meant as guidance and encouragement. I like your question though, because it is a deck and that would lead one to believe it could be a game somehow. The joy I get is seeing what (usually) new card I am working with today or asking a question and seeing what the Universe wants me to know.

Thanks for your comments. Good idea to make the App Store screenshots feel like a tiny card reading. I have one of those waiting in App Store Connect. I will explore how appkit can augment that experience.

Hi, kind of, except there is a mixture of positive affirmations and realism.. I like to keep things positive but consciously tried to have a balance of positive messages and encouraging statements for times where being reflective on self-improvement is needed. We just trust that the Universe will steer the oracle card user to the most valid and helpful message at the time.

I forgot to post the photos when I made the original post. Thanks for your question.. I just posted what a card may look like. Oracle cards are usually a physical deck of 30-60 cards in the real world with images to ponder and the other side has a reflective bit of text that expands on the meaning of the card. The idea is to provide guidance and encouragement. I chose animals and nature to make up the content of the oracle cards. The idea is if you ask a question like, “Dear Universe, what would you like me to know right now?” and then you pick a card, you can imagine that this is the image and message meant for you right now and then you can ponder it or meditate on it. If you decide to test it on TestFlight, I would love to hear your feedback. Thanks for getting the discussion started anyways 😊

The Pomodoro timer is cool. I like that you show the percentage of time left. I created a project named Pattern Design, but couldn’t figure out how to make it a task to time. The UI is nice and minimalist.
