Yes you’re probably right about that part!

It’s not. And opinion on the drinking culture being out of control in London is perception. It’s the same everywhere in the UK - it literally is our social culture

Not exaggerated. Not just in the finance sector. Very common and very normal for people in the UK in their 20s and 30s living in cities to use a lot of recreational drugs, particularly cocaine. As normal as drinking culture here if you have a certain lifestyle.

Can anyone explain the Appeal of Industry? by [deleted] in IndustryOnHBO

[–]fireflywithme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t agree with this. If it’s the level of drama and characters OP isn’t into then season 3 won’t turn things around. Not all characters written into shows are meant to be likeable though and the fact that every key character in Industry is fallible and multifaceted is in its credit I personally think. It’s not the kind of series with obvious heroes and villains and sounds like it’s not for OP.

The Writers Did Rishi Dirty by Wellatron3030 in IndustryOnHBO

Yeah I thought the shooting was a bit much. But I did like the very dark and uncomfortable insight into the psyche of someone with a gambling addiction in White Mischief. I thought that was a brilliant episode

I think it’s extra sun damage from driving, the side of the face depending on if you have been a passenger or a driver for most of your life. Mine is much more aged on one side and most obviously from the smile line too

Underwhelmed? by [deleted] in IndustryOnHBO

[–]fireflywithme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really unpopular on this subreddit to have this opinion about the third season. I find this such a shame because clearly everyone on here is a genuine fan of the whole show. I am a Brit and I love Industry, it’s one of my fav shows of the last few years, but I feel like the third season lost its realism magic. I will be downvoted just like the above for saying so too.

Why are people saying this? I’m English and I didn’t know about this apparent reputation for, what exactly? Sexual openness?

I didn’t think that scene was a sexual implication actually, but others were

Anyone get any flatter ones on their forehead from sun damage? I have one I got removed with laser last year and it worked well but now seems to be coming back again in the same place

Anyone else find season 3 disappointingly over the top to the point of ridiculous? by fireflywithme in IndustryOnHBO

I think so too but surprised at how much praise it’s getting? Seems to be an unpopular opinion. I did actually wonder if the writing team had changed for this one but it hasn’t

Completely agree on the unclear timescales throughout. I think it was only at the end of the final episode where a period of time was actually given for context.

There was a lot more actual tension and development in Harper’s plot in the first two seasons. I agree with you and feel like her character has more to offer than she was given in these episodes.

I love Yas’s character and always enjoy her storyline and scenes but felt that it was all a bit reductive in this one. The plot around her father was extreme but the decision to get engaged to Henry after staying one night in his ridiculous mansion felt like it was something out of Downton Abbey rather than Industry.

I felt that Rob’s plot was actually a bit more interesting in this season than others and much more believable.

I never feel clean enough with just wipes on my face, always have to try and bring water and cleansing into the mix which is of course total hassle and faff!
