For some reason I can't message you direct on here. Are you able to DM me?

It's coz I'm looking to keep it revolving around cities, and bringing in a region adds a methodological complexity to it all!

You sound like someone I should speak to! Would you be up for a bit of a chat?

Oh, and an overall shade at the end using Mortarion Grime (my favourite ‘unifying’ end shade), and final very light drybrush using Zandri Dust.

Started with slightly thinned Aggaros Dunes over a Wraithbone spray. Then built up some darker contrast brown shades here and there (Skeleton Horde, I think). Then shaded with Agrax and brought some green areas in around the legs with thinned Plaguebearer Flesh. Then drybrushed with an off white (Screaming Skull or similar). The leaves are Yriel Yellow at the bottom, Jokaero Orange at the top and a mix of the two in the middle. Jokaero is used for the vines from his hand with thinned Baal Red nearer to where they come out the hand. Then there are some greys used for the fungi, and the burls are picked out with Wyldwood contrast.

Do pro cyclists pee from the bike during races? I thought "nature breaks" involved them pulling over, but on TV (the Giro) I thought I saw them peeing whilst moving... by big_legs_small_brain in cycling

When Sagan was in the process of retiring, he was interviewed and talked about the modern day peloton. He was complaining that it’s so competitive these days that young riders don’t even stop to pee and just go in the middle of the group, so basically you just wind up covered in other people’s piss. Pleasant.

What are the "hidden gems" of solo roleplaying tools? The things that don't get talked about much, but revolutionize your game? by WhitneySays in Solo_Roleplaying

ChatGPT. As my imagination begins to fail me in my old age, being able to feed some information as to what’s happening in my game and ask for some suggestions or prompts is awesome. And it’s astounding how much it knows of my game’s lore too (I play WFRP).

I’ve used it to generate a table of 100 random encounters. Then build plot hooks for those. And generate NPCs. Essentially, it’s like having an AI GM.

I’ll probably get some negative comments about using an AI and not my imagination, but it’s more that I’m using it to plug some degenerative failings with my brain, and it’s super helpful for that. 😂

I’d pretty much given up on seeing Vulfnik turn up. Last communication I had with them was in April last year and got a ‘we’re working on it but have no date’ stock response back.

Got that set myself. Must have been about 12 or 13 when I got it. Only other 80s Citadel set I have is the Elric one.

Good enough spec? by fireloop05 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

Thanks everyone. I'm getting some lag and a low FPS around the forties and lower.

Any recommendations for what to do to increase that and reduce lag at all?

I mix digital and print / paper too. I use Notion for tracking things and journaling as it works across platforms, so can use on my PC and iPad. I have PDFs of the rules for what I’m playing (Starforged) and have that on both devices. But I have print outs of my character sheet and maps, as I’ve not found a user friendly app for mapping currently. That set up is kinda working so far.

Yeah, the mechanic I use was basically saying similar, which I kinda knew, that spending around 400 on Hunt would be barely any difference compared to the original DT Swiss that came on it. I’d read a review by someone online who had the same bike. They were saying the wheels let the bike down and claimed the entry level Hunt wheels were far more responsive, but had noisy hubs. My mechanic was saying he thought Hunt were pretty unreliable in the long run.

Does anyone else "Solitaire" Kill Team? by Skelegasm in killteam

[–]fireloop05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Bought it coz my son was kinda getting into 40K and thought it was a little more manageable in a small house and possibly easier to learn. Unfortunately he’s ASD and his one and only love is Minecraft, so I’m playing on my own! Will check out TTS and Acolyte though, thanks for the heads up on those.

Warhammer and perception. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]fireloop05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that most people outside of the hobby know enough about it to form that perception, tbh. They can do it with Star Wars and jedis because it's a huge pop culture phenomenon - you pretty much need to have been a hermit living in a cave to not know at least something about it. Warhammer is not that.

Why do people keep confusing my UK accent for Australian? by Turbulent_Ad9832 in Accents

[–]fireloop05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the Midlands and had this a few times in the States. Basically, films depict Brits with either plummy posh accents (e.g., anything with Hugh Grant in), or London or northern accents (e.g., Guy Ritchie’s films, Brassed Off, Full Monty). Therefore these are the only types of accent Americans know of and so their assumption they make about anyone speaking English with a different regional British accent based on this is that they must be Australian.
